Outstanding light, really easy to fit. Stays attached securely and fitted vertically, it gives a lot of light taking up little space.

Less than perfect
A wonderfully bright light this. Bright, large lens and therefore a safety enhancement for us all.
Easy to fit and remove, sturdy when fitted, snugly positioned behind the seat post (vertical) or horizontal if you want it to look silly.
The one serious and surprising design fault is the large adjusting knob (nut) on one side. It sticks out and is inclined to contact your inner thigh on occasions !!!
Who wants that? Not me I found out.

Very bright light
Bought this light to supplement another on my saddle bag - for dark night commuting and training rides. I now just use this light as it is more than sufficient. I very much like the vertical orientation as this makes it stand out from other night lights on bikes and cars.
Its very bright, lasts a long time on the supplied batteries and is quite light.
The only fault is that I cannot fit it to my Topeak small saddle bag.

Solid performer
Given the attitude Australian drivers have towards cyclists, it's best to give them no excuses. These rear lights give them no excuses for not seeing you. These lights can be seen very well from a distance and easily from the side. The only con is I would like a bag clip with the light in addition to the vertical clamp.

Very Bright Light
This is a very bright light and has a good range of flash modes. MY only issue is if a saddle bag is attached it's hard to see, so I bought a small led elastic ones as well.

really bright
This light is flexible in terms of where you can fit it, I needed to put it on the rear of a pannier for a touring trip, which was a cinch to do. It's a bit too easy to switch on which was annoying as it lit up every time I adjusted my panniers when things rubbed against the switch, that's why I gave it average for performance. In normal use, especially on a seat post this would be fine.

Bright Eyes
I recently bought the Cateye LD610 specifically for my touring bike and have mounted it horizontally on the back of the bike rack using the Cateye Rear Carrier Mounting which I purchased at the same time. All works brilliantly -literally and figuratively. The light is very bright, suitable I believe even for day use and is noticeably brighter thatn the earlier Cateye LD 600 which I still have (in good order). The case seems quite robust, switch is easy to operate and a good range of opertaing modes. As yet I have not had it out in any serious rain for the ultimate test.

I could tell you about the way this light switches on. You've read that before. Or the sticky out bit on the bracket. Again, you know that. Instead I will tell you to buy some cheap cable ties to prevent the light bouncing off when riding rough stuff as the clip isn't too positive, but I've lost a few lights so this problem isn't restricted to this light and occasionally I fall off on the bumpy bits too. If you can handle taking out one of the batteries when carrying the light, cutting off the excess bracket, and cable tie-ing your light on when when off roading you will love this light. It's small, it's bright, what more do you want it to do? Best rear light I've ever owned.

Good visibility with plenty of features.
I've only had the light for a few weeks but generally I'm impressed with it's features and funcionality. The LED's are very bright and there are varying patterns briging your existence to the notice of other road users from a distance. Since using the light drivers do slow down more when approaching than when I rode in the summer months with no lights so for these winter months and wet road conditions this is a welcomed change!
I have the light fitted to my seat post, the fitting was easy and as I don't take the light often I can't see any issues with the strength of the clasp. I did find that in the horizontal position i caught the light a couple of times when climbing but positioned virtically there was no problem at all.
I've ridden in the wet a couple of times and as yet no water has got into the housing. I'll be sure to update this review if this changes!
I think for the price this is one of the brightest on the market. It's improtant to have a quality rear light and I don't think this one will let you down.

Essential safety red rear lighting system
It's war out there. Road-riders will know we daily have to dodge fools with steamed up windows, texting-multi-tasking motorists, a noisy cluttered urban environment, over-bright vehicle headlights and what ever weather nature throws at us.
The Cateye TL LD610 Rear Light (or equivalent) is essential safety equipment for a road cyclist who wants to remain uninjured and road legal.
This rear red light unit is impressively bright. I use mine in random single flashing mode, and in my opinion, even in this “low power consumption” setting, the highly engineered Cateye LEDs and optical mounting deliver noticeable and bright light output.
You have two single LED flash modes: A “nightrider” style scan or a random flash. The flashing effect helps make this small unit get you noticed.
And what further impresses me is that I’ve had mine for 1.5 years, using it without reservation daily, and I am still running acceptably with the factory supplied batteries (all included for a mere £17.99).
If the weather is wet or particularly poor, or you are in an aggressive road environment, you can switch up to 5 LED flash mode as well as 5 constant mode for strictly legal purposes.
The mount, which fits neatly on my seat post, is completely fine, and I believe you can buy spare mounts too. It has a “jog dial” type adjustment mechanism, and remains solid after insertion and removal hundreds of times.
Obviously don’t leave this valuable equipment on your bike when parked. (Thieves nicked my lead acid battery recently.) The quick release is firm enough for it to never have fallen off but you can remove it and slip it in to your shirt or jacket pocket with agility and ease.
You can deliberately angle the Cateye TL LD610 mounting to make full contact with car drivers’ eyes.
I’ve dropped mine once on concrete. The casing is still intact. I’ve crashed once with this on. We’re still on the road.
There’s just one niggle: The “on” switch is too easy to activate on in your pocket or ruck sack, so I carry mine in some “bubble wrap” to ease pressure off the switch. It would be helpful if Cateye made the “on” mechanism fail-safe like they have done with the “off” mechanism.
I’ve uploaded two pictures taken tonight of my unit in a typical modern urban street. Note that I’m using single LED random flash mode AND that I’m on my original batteries still after 1.5 years (and I’m starting to think its fuel-cell powered!). Pic1 is at about 15 meters and Pic2 is at about 30 meters. And if you can’t see that, Mr Learned Accident-Solicitor will be discussing the matter with you via The Courts.
Put new batteries in this baby, and you’re going to look like an American Police car in pursuit mode.
So don’t be a Ninja-cyclist: Get some decent lights like this unit, be safe and seen, and live long.

Good buy
Works well, has lasted me a year with constant use and the battery life pretty good.

Nice bright light
Easy to fit and plenty bright enough, loads of different flash settings.
All in all a good value little light.

Super Bright
Excellent piece of kit.
It is even bright enough for daytime use, and sits nicely in line with the seat tube. Easy to take off for race's or re-attach for training.
Batteries last ages.

Bright, Secure, Robust
I bought this for daytime cycling more than dusk or evening, I cycle mainly on A and B roads, sometimes country lanes so I'm keen to be seen as far down the road as possible.
Fitting it was easy, I at first thought that it was mounted vertically and I was sure it was shown horizontally in pictures but then I realised that you can clip it in either vertically or horizontally!
It's got a few different flash programs, I use the random one, it always seems to have a light showing then as one fires, then another.
Happy with it, have ridden on mainly dry days since buying it, so can't say it's waterproof or not but it's survived the odd puddle so far.
Happy with the brightness and features, and price, overall it's good value.

Excellent bike light
Bright flashy light, gets you seen keeps you safe. Buy it.

Big light that switches on by itself!
This is big light but is bright. The bracket is fully adjustable if a bit flimsy and you can fit the light in any position. But the on off button is too sensitive. If it touches anything it switches on even in your bag. On the two occasion I have used this I have seen it on within my bag. and when fitting to the bike it switches on too easily as well. If it was not on sale it would be going back.

pretty good for the price
Great all-rounder and for the price fantastic value.
Bright LEDs and the slight curve means it's not all in one direction meaning better spread of light and visibility. Great modes of flash. Like the fact that you can easily mount to seat post vertical or horizontal.
Very happy with these.

simple cheap effective 'be seen' light
works well. good visibility. perfect as a rear light, as you might hope.
the on/off switch is a bit annoying though. the real one is on one side, a false one on the other, so, if like me you remove the light every day to park it in the street, you'll end up messing around looking for the real button. also, easy to turn on accidentally in your bag as it only needs the slightest knock. the previous option required more of a deliberate push to turn on, which was better to be honest.
still, works well for the money, so I'm happy.

Great rear light, very visible
Have two of these on my seat stays. Mount angle is adjustable so they can go essentially anywhere, and there's a fair choice of modes.
Seeing them on the back of other bikes catches the eye - they aren't very bright in the middle of the day, but plenty bright enough in early morning / evenings. Haven't yet ventured out late at night...

Very Bright
Great Value for Money, light, easy to fit and very bright.
09 June 2016
Best rear Light
Bright and easy to change functions. Sit lushly behind the seat post when vertical.
03 June 2016
Solid rear light
This has been a great light. Batteries seem to last for ages on flashing. I ride it with another light on constant when really dark in winter. I feel really confident with this behind me. Other more expensive lights have just died on me, reasonable priced and reliable.

Day and night lighting
Excellent light that works well during the day for country or low viz riding and of course at night. The different modes work well for different conditions and the battery life is really good. This is my second one of these. The first eventually died (after three years) due to water ingress (judging by the rust marks on the batteries) - that's why it only gets 4 stars and not 5.

Reliable
Great light, easy to use, efficient on power and bright. I always feel safe
19 May 2016
Bright and good value
Nice big bright light, i've had a number of people in my cycling club ask about as its so easy to see.
The attachment to the seat stem is a little fiddly and i have to try hard to arrange the slack so that I don't keep getting stabbed in the leg!
Not re-chargable but the battery has lasted 4 hours of constant use so far.
18 May 2016
Good
Very bright and very visible. It's easy to attach to the bike and doesn't require any tools thanks to a clever attachment system. The battery cover fell off after a while but duct tape does the job
14 May 2016
Reliable, as always
I've got through a few cateyes over the past few years. This one does the job very well. Only disappointment is that it no longer has the pulse setting – always on but fading between very bright and standard.

Very Bright Rear Light
I bought this rear light to replace an older version that stopped working due to water ingress, a couple of reviewer had the same problem! I decided to stick with Cateye and this lamp design because of its brightness and long battery life, I bought it for touring where re-charging might be a issue and wanted something that would mount to my pannier rack.
I have now used this model throughout winter commuting, have not had re-occurrence of the problem with water ingress and have ridden in all weather, due to the amount of other riders I see using this light I would say this is a popular choice and highly recommend it for the money.

Effective, easy to fit
Fitted this behind by saddle bag - needed an extra bracket but simple to fit. Good strong light, effective for a decent distance unlike other, cheaper ones I've previously bought,
11 April 2016
great light
I was looking for a rear light for a while now, and I am glad I bought this one, have few lighting modes, and is visible, good fit, this is all you need :)
