Description

The tyre for all year use in and around town in all conditions and soils, providing high comfort, and good puncture protection due to the robust gumwall sidewall and generous rubber tread. The compound uses a high degree of natural rubber which is unusual for a tyre at this price level. This means that the tyre will provide greater wet weather grip making it safer in cornering and under breaking on wet, greasy city streets.

The tread is designed with our unique "Endless Edge"- block design system, as with all Conti's new generation off road MTB tyres featuring five-cornered blocks in variable orientation for effortless, precise steering, safe handling and responsive braking grip.

Magazine Reviews

Review from What MTB

The Conti Traffic is a tyre that is specifically aimed at MTBers that want an easy rolling road tyre but don't like the skinny strip down look of the 1 inchers. It's a loud and proud 2.1 inch tyre and on close inspection looks like a fairly capable dry weather off-roader, with a tread pattern based on the successful Vertical Protection. So if you mainly ride road but don't mind exploring the odd trail, look at the Traffic.

In conclusion...

Capable dry off road tyre with the rolling style of a heavy slick.

Customer Reviews

Continental Traffic II Urban City MTB Tyre is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 80.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Jemskie from I bought these for a very old mountain bike that I have owned since I was 13 years old. The bike is a spare that I now keep with the horses to ride out occasionally in support of other horse riders. The tyres are great quality for the price and fitted perfectly to my old 26" wheels.

Q & A

How would these go with a studded front?

Ive got a single studded front tyre - Scwhalbe - and on a spare wheel. My aim was to use this on the worst days with a quick change....but after a tumble due to wet leaves Im thinking of changing my rear tyre for the whole of the winter/spring. My current rear tyre is another Schwalbe called Urban which is fine for dry or not too wet months but not much cop for my commute in rougher weather. I ride country roads, some bike paths and plenty leaves/ice over winter. Would using this on the rear work with a studded front? I dont want to keep changing tyres and on limited funds.
Asked by: mdigweed
If you experience a high amount of ice on your commute I would recommend the studded tyres all the time. Sadly this is difficult as this kind of tyre (Traffic II) would be fine for the current month, but you would benefit from having the studded more in my opinion. This may be a more worth while investment also. This Traffic II tyre is tacky, so has good grip - just so you're aware and can have this information floating around in your head.

Can these replace 26 x 1.95 tyres?

Asked by: AsifTufal
If you order 26's then the width 1.95 is dependant on what you need. The higher the value the fatter the tyre and the more grip and traction you will get. So They can replace them and I did so for my wifes bike, it really depends what you are looking for.

Are Traffic II Urban City MTB Tyre suitable replacements?

Currently have full tread Bontrager MTB tyres and looking to change to tyres suitable for road use as I will commute by bike. Current sizes are 26 x 2.25 on the front, and 26 x 2.2 on the rear. Are Traffic II Urban City MTB Tyres suitable replacements? Thanks
Asked by: Dollar24
These would indeed be suitable replacements

good tyres for road cycling, and a local forest which has wet gras on hills

I have seen the double fighter and the traffic. Which one is more suitable for wet gras, and is there anything elase i SHOULD CONSIDER
Asked by: ZUBAIR
The traffic has more rubber in the centre section of the tyre, this gives good low rolling resistance and faster speeds, but on wet grass, I suspect is likly to be more slippy compared with a more open tread pattern. I have no knowledge of the other tyre you mention.
