Well made robust mudguard, fiddly to fit securelyI have fitted this mudguard to a Dawes Galaxy Touring Bike after removing the smaller 45mm wide full mudguards. I fitted 47mm wide tyres to the existing 700c wheels to undertake a challenging off road trip and needed much wider mudguards. This mudguard looks smart, matches the colour of the bike and is wide enough to prevent debris from the tyre hitting the bike and water bottles.
It was fiddly to fit securely, and I needed to tie two knots to shorten the rubber ties. I ended up using a strong elastic band looped through the rubber tie to pull it through and secure it to the hooks at the front of the mudguard.

Catches the crud!Easy to fit and nice and large to catch the mud and spray from going in your face. I still use a smaller mud guard over the front wheel to stop the wheel spray but expect it this time of year.
Can this be used without interferring with the cables that run along the underside of the downtube that it is fixed onto?
Asked by: SueBeeDub
No it wouldn't fit as the cables would get in the way. Top of the guard is cutout to fit snug against ROUND downtubes only.

Would this work with Childrens Trailer bikes?
Would this work with Childrens Trailer bikes?
Asked by: JoeCC
I think it would fit but it would look out of place because its a large mudgaurd.

Does this easily attach to a front suspension fork?
Asked by: 4ltman
This is designed to attach to the bike frame, around the down tube.

Does it fit to down tube bosses
I have two bosses on the underside of my Genesis Latitude MTB. These seem to be for a front mudguard as they are too widely spaced for a bottle cag. Is the Crud Catcher drilled so I can bolt it to these bosses [or is it easily drilled for this purpose]?

This will not be suitable.

Does this fit on a race bike frame?
Is there enough clearance so that my legs do not hit the guard at all on a traditional skinny race bike frame. Thanks.
