CycleOps Mag Shifter Upgrade
Being stupid and buying my first trainer never thought about being able to adjust the tension whilst on the bike added this and now fantastic dont have to shout at her indoors to come and adjust the resistance Ha Ha some chance I know what she would say

Adjuster for mag
Bought this as direct upgrade from standard mag, easy to fit, cable quite long and adjuster fits on stem, in use does not make much difference unless going at some speed, also same advice on web site. The last section of adjustment appears to add the load. Having bought this, I left wondering if I should just have left it on highest section on the turn knob and just used gears! Over all satisfied

Fine
Cant really add to much to this review - it does what it is supposed to. Not the most asthetically pleasing item but all it is for is use on a TT, a job which is does perfectly well

Doesn't give enough variation and fits poorly
This addition to my trainer was a disappointment. First it doesn't have a lot of variation - even on the toughest setting it's still fairly easy. Second, it falls off very easily. The fastener is very badly designed.

There were no explenations as to whether it fits or not, and no directions as to how to build it in the trax.

Useful extra
This is a really useful bit of kit and I would say a necessity for a turbo trainer. However, this begs the question of why it isn't supplied in the first place?!

Not enough resistance
This product has been useful for adjusting the resistance whilst on the turbo, but really the range of resistance provided is not sufficient for someone wanting a proper turbo training session. The adjuster does not clip on to the handlebars properly, and needs an elastic band to hold it together. The adjuster does not maintain its position, and very easily changes resistance with the slightest knock. I would certainly buy a higher quality turbo with full resistance adjustment built in next time...

Gotta Have It
I originally bought a Mag Trainer without the remote shifter. This add on makes training much easier and, particularly interval training, where you're increasing and decreasing resistance in your training. It installed easily in minutes and made a world of difference in resistance levels and my ability to effectively train indoors.

Must have add on
I bought the Mag Trainer without the magnetic shifter initially and found my self either getting frustrated with the resistance or interrupting my workout to get off and adjust it. The remote shifter addressed the issues and I absolutely recommend it. It was a bit confusing to install, but I figured it out easily enough.
