Rated 3 out of 5 by from Double Check The Diameter Of Your Steerer Tube The expander is well made and I'm sure would do the job absolutely brilliantly, if it fits your steerer tube. Like a previous reviewer, I discovered this is too big to fit the steerer on my carbon Cannondale Synapse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When slamming stem on Cervelo Works great on Cervelo when shortening the stem. Cervelo have engineered a fixed welded star nut into the headset on a metal tube that inserts into the headset. It's poor engineering and you need to take this out if shortening your stem and replace with this expandable bolt. Great works well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Not very exciting but saved my sanity. Replaced a previous replacement shorter bung I used in a carbon steerer. I could not eliminate an annoying noise from the headset no matter how much adjustment. Replaced with this longer plug and job sorted. Also gives more confidence when tightening as the plug runs the full length of the stem giving support to the inside of the steerer. Only downside is the magnetic cover cap which is frankly useless, so used my original bolt/cap.

Does this come with a top cap?

It comes with a magnetic cap which comes off very easily.

Suitable for dynamo wiring?

Can I run a wire through this? My forks have a port by the dynamo hub, that allows the dynamo wire to be routed up through the steerer tube - but the bung needs to be hollow. (I have a hollow bung already, but it's too short to allow me to secure the stem bolts properly).
