Deep Winter: for the Coldest Rides of the Year

If the temperature is hovering around zero and the question is whether to go out or not, this tight is the one that allows you to get out the door. Designed for temperatures ranging from -2 to 6 Celsius, but capable of a bigger range with the right accessories, this is a true winter tight.

Protection in Key Areas

dhb have blended protective and thermal fabrics to produce a tight that not only keeps your warm and dry in tough conditions but also has a great fit.

Key muscle groups and external-facing areas are protected by an advanced weatherproof fabric. Around this, thermal fleece fabrics are used to allow breathability, preventing overheating during tough intensive efforts. A high zip on the front adds more thermal insulation, along with fleece-lined bib straps which hold everything in place.

The Protection: PU Foam Replaces the Traditional Membrane

Making a fabric truly waterproof usually means sandwiching a laminated membrane between two other fabrics. This makes very protective fabrics, but the compromise is a lack of flexibility and breathability – two things you need when making cycling legwear.

Working with Schoeller®, dhb have utilised PU foam as an alternative weatherproof option.

PU foam is a unique bonding process which enables our winter bib tight fabrics to have the right level of windproofing, water resistance, breathability and stretch. Whereas a laminated fabric construction would completely block wind flow through the fabric, the dhb PU foam bonded fabric blocks the wind but also allows a small amount of air to pass through the fabric. For winter cycling tights intended to be ridden at a higher intensity, this means more breathability and more comfort.

Another benefit of PU foam construction is that it offers a much higher level of fabric stretch than a laminated alternative. Once again this means much more comfort and a better fit.

The Aeron Deep Winter Tight shares this fabric technology with the new Aeron Rain Defence Bib Tight, but in this case,  it is backed with a thicker fleece fabric next to the skin for more thermal support in the depths of winter.

The new Paris HP is the latest development from Elastic Interface®, the Italian experts whose unparalleled knowledge and experience goes into making the best chamois in cycling.

The Paris HP Pad features ultra-high density foam inserts under the sit bones to ensure a comfortable ride all day long. Rated as good for rides over 7 hours in length, three separate densities of foam have been used to ensure comfort, while also reducing the overall bulk of the pad.

Finishing Touches

Reflective details on the lower legs ensure eye-catching flashes for other road users on dark days out. Ankle zips are there to allow easy entry, without being too bulky and getting in the way of your overshoes.
