Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano’s top end groupsets, making the Ultegra 11 speed 6800 groupset a performance option for the masses.
The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano’s Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort.
With its two piece hollow axle design, the Shimano Hollowtech II chainset is both stiffer and lighter than a square taper chainset. Mounting the large diameter bearings outboard of the bottom bracket shell also provides increased stiffness and bearing life over standard cartridge units. With 52/36 compact gearing, you can tackle even the steepest climbs with confidence.
Ultegra Dual pivot brake calipers provide excellent braking power, with angle adjustable pads to ensure perfect pad alignment. A quick release lever aids installation and removal of wheels, for transportation or puncture repairs.
The Shimano RS11 clincher wheelset, offering all the technology of Shimano high end wheels at an economical price. With 24mm high profile aluminium rim for improved aerodynamics and elbow-less spokes make for a strong yet compliant wheel.
The hub uses angular contact bearings designed to cradle the balls giving both radial and lateral support for superior strength and durability in real world riding conditions. They also offer precision bearing adjustment and easy maintenance. The labyrinth and contact seals offer low-friction sealing, effectively shut out water, mud and dirt without affecting rotational smoothness.
Eddy Merckx finish these bikes off with a combination of self-branded parts and the Deda range, such as handlebars, stem and seatpost finished of with a Prologo Zero II saddle.
