Description

The VR30

Versatility and performance are the hallmarks of the VR30. With an 6061 aluminum frame featuring TIG-welded Hydroform construction and a fork crafted from UHC Advanced carbon fiber, the VR30 comes complete with a Shimano 105 derailleurs, an FSA crankset with super-compact gearing and hydraulic disc brakes. All of that combines to create an impeccable ride quality on whatever roads you discover.

Shimano 105 Drivetrain

Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano’s top end groupsets, making the 105 11 speed 5800 groupset a performance option for the masses.

The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano’s Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort.

Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes

The all new Shimano dropbar hydraulic disc brakes give the VR3 the stopping power it needs down the hills. The dual piston caliper ensures even brake wear and a greater performance. Its index shifting mechanism offers the 11 speed RS505 drivetrain an economical brake/gear lever but a smooth and elegant gear change.

Felt/Prologo Finishing Kit

The Felt VR OS SuperLite Road bar and SuperLite stem make for a lightweight but responsive front end.

The Felt Race Road UHC Performance carbon fibre seat post is lightweight and offers enough deflection to take out the sting on bad road surfaces.

The finishing touch is a Prologo Kappa Space T2.0 saddle. The perfect perch for hours in the saddle.

Size Guide

Sizing Information

The size chart below will get you on the right size bike. Experienced riders may also wish to refer to the geometry chart for more detail.

Getting the Right Fit

At Wiggle we measure each of our bikes to build accurate size charts for our customers. Our qualified team of mechanics then individually check each order, against measurements supplied by you, to ensure the size chosen is correct. Another reason you can have complete confidence when buying a bike from Wiggle!

If you are on the change over between sizes both options will fit. Racers and experienced riders would usually select a smaller size as this offers quicker handing. A larger bike offers more stability and is more suited to new and intermediate riders.

Customer Reviews

Felt VR30 Road Bike (105 - 2018) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sampkin from Fantastic bile! This is a great bike, it’s really comfortable on rough roads and rides great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PrimO999 from Very Comfortable Fast Bike I have put approximately 300kms on this bike now and so am reasonably qualified to review it. Firstly the geometry is very relaxed, I also have a 2011 Felt F5 and the handlebars are roughly 2.5" higher than on the F5 giving a very relaxed riding position. The bars are very nice, short reach and shallow making transition from the bar tops/hoods to the drops very easy and quick. One thing not mentioned in the spec is that the Felt handlebars are 35mm at the stem clamp point so you'll need a 35mm stem if changing to a shorter or longer stem and Garmin out-front mounts are too small to clamp on the bars and an alternative method of fixing it will have to be found. The saddle (Prologo Kappa Space) is very comfortable (for me) and just happened to be the same saddle I use on my other bikes so that was a plus point immediately. Very few aluminium bikes at this price and spec point come with a carbon seatpost and so another bonus. The 28mm tyres offer good grip and roll smoothly and without any discernible resistance. I had to play around with pressures as I have never used 28mm tyres before but I now have a nice set up and they offer great comfort on rough surfaces/roads. The gearing is sub-compact with a 46/30 chainset and an 11/32 cassette so hills are very easily managed but I find that I spin out in the highest gear (46/11) at around 55km/h but I didn't buy this bike for speed and so its not big deal. The hydraulic brakes are excellent, I removed the pads and sanded them using 200grade sandpaper to key them before I used the bike and it immediately improved the braking ten fold. They are smooth and powerful yet are easy to modulate. Overall I'm very pleased with the bike, it replaced a Ridley Compact which has much more racier geometry and was stiff and unforgiving on poor road surfaces (it also had only 23mm tyres which didn't help) I usually am very quick to find things I want to change very early into ownership of a new bike, be it tyres, saddle, handlebars, bar tape, cassette, wheels etc but this bike is pretty much perfect in my opinion and I am happy to leave it as it came from the shop.

Q & A

A few questions on the spec.

im looking for a fast commuter/light tourer What is the maximum tyre size that can be fitted and can it run tubeless? Does it have eyelets for mudguards and pannier racks?
Asked by: PaullyD
I purchased this bike and I questioned directly FELT about it as I had exactly the same question. 35mm tyres work. They tested positively the Schwalbe G-One 35.
