Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Peasey As a bike numpty that thought of taking on a headset was a bit daunting, but helpful advice from a bike nut on the end of a phone soon had this bearing installed. The bike is transformed, and after a couple of rides the headset needs tightening slightly. I am surprised how much I can notice the difference between this and the old set. Very chuffed.

Does this suit a 50mm outer diam headstem?

I am building up a Giant Atlas hardtail frame. The headstem is bigger than my other bikes. Outer diam 50 mm, inner diam 44 mm. I assume this headset will fit. Does it come with the bearing cups that need to be driven into the headstem, at the top an bottom?

It sounds like you have a 1.5" headset frame, these are relatively new and is much larger than the 1 1/8" standard. I can't find any information on the Giant Atlas though so I can't recommend a headset, I recommend contacting Giant directly so they can recommend the correct fitting.

What is the difference between this and the white No9 M-cup headset?

Technical description seems to be exactly the same, is there any difference except for the colour? Thanks.

These both have the same sizes and fittings but the Mcup comes with a 8mm white top cap instead of black.

Unfortunately this would not be suitable for your frame however something like the Cane Creek 40 Series ZeroStack 1 1/8 Inch Headset in the Tall option should work without issue.

What is the size of the bearings?

on the Product page you state 36 x 45 bearing (blue seal) but on the FSA chart it says its 36 not 45. I'm looking for 1-1/8th 36 x 35 (blue seal) for headset for Giant Reign II 06...
