Perfect fit for the Giant 50mm head tube.I was looking for a replacement headset for my 2005 Giant XTC-SX, as the original was showing signs of wear and play. After a recommendation to look at the FSA, I purchased one and it's perfect. My Giant mechanic said it was the 'snuggest' fit he'd come across for a replacement headset, and it took him a little more than the '5 minutes' he originally quoted, but it worked out well! Highly recommended for anyone with a 50mm tube Giant.

Works wellI have had this in my MTB for about two years now. It still works very well, easy to install and then just forget about it. Good product and I would purchase the same again when this one needs replacing.

Perfect for my Focus variado 2007This is a perfect replacement for my Focus variado 2007 headset, and also a good upgrade.
This headset has sealed bearings and also an extra seal at the bottom to prevent most of road splash to reach the bottom bearing.
That's the reason why I had to change the previous one.
Quality is brilliant and I can now enjoy good feedback while steering instead of bearing balls grinding their way on the cones!
However, be sure you obtain the same stack height than your previous bike.
For example on the variado 2007, the bottom seal adds 3mm of heigh, and you need an extra 10mm at the top top make up for the loss of the lower spacer.
A tad expensive, but that's going to give a few more years to live to my bike!

Excellent quality for GT Avalanche 2.0I bought this headset to replace the old rusting non-sealed bearings that came fitted to my GT Avalanche 2.0 and have been very pleased with its performance.
The headset was very simple to fit, just requires a vice with soft jaws or alternatively a block of wood and a mallet to fit the upper and lower tube races (silver bits in the middle). The crown race requires a bit more patience to get it position as it is an interference fit at the bottom of the steerer tube but was easily manageable with no specialist tools. The installation should be no problem to the average cyclist with a bit of technical know how.
Servicing in the future should also be less frequent and easy when it is required as the two sealed bearings should keep the water out and are available to buy separately if you need to replace them.
It is worth noting that this headset added a fraction under 10mm to the height of the stem, mainly due the domed top seal. This was fine for me as I had a 5mm and a 10mm spacer fitted previously, so simply removed the 10mm one. Make sure this is possible if you are fitting to GT bikes that come with those ball and cage bearings like mine did.
My steering is now extremely smooth and I'm confident that this headset will be able to take more than my daily rides will throw at it. The little extra on the purchase price compared to lower spec headsets will probably be repaid in reduced servicing requirements and longevity.
I have a 2009 Boardman HT Pro frame, I believe it is semi-integrated for the headset, will this fit?
Thanks

I can confirm this should fit the frame without issue, although the newer models also come fitted with the FSA C-40 ACB headset as well which may be worth a look.
