Bought to you by Garmin, the world’s leading brand in GPS technology, the Edge 1030 is their latest offering in cycling computers that will help you ride longer and stronger while keeping connected. It features, new and improved, Trendline popularity routing which combines billions of miles of rider data to give you the best, and most up to date, information on things such as the best on- and off-road routes. Suitable for all cyclists whether you’re a competitor, commuter or an adventure-seeker.
Garmin have done their research and Popularity Routing combines years of information from other riders through Garmin Connect to creating the best mapping via their billions of miles of ride data. With Trendline, the popularity routing technology, the Edge 1030 harnesses this data and creates realistic, incredible routes that have already been tried and tested over and over again so you don’t have to. The Edge 1030 therefore generates the best route for you based on the experiences of others. Or you can choose to use the revamped Course Creator in Garmin Connect for even more bike-friendly routes.
Whether you are into road or off-road cycling the Garmin Edge 1030 is preloaded with the Garmin Cycle Map that will expertly guide you however long or short your ride. This inbuilt mode includes turn-by-turn navigation and new navigation alerts which will let you know, in advance, of things like sharp turns. While on the go the computer will give you information on your elevation data, plus points of interest and you can search for addresses. The computer also helps created personalised routes for you just by telling the 1030 a distance and starting direction it will give you a choice of 3 different unique routes. If you deviate from the route the computer will automatically and safely guide you back to the route.
The Edge 1030 makes communication between riders ridiculously easy. The computer will let you send prewritten notes to fellow riders from your Edge 1030 to theirs instantly. With the added feature of Group Track you can also track the riders you’re on a ride with making puncture emergencies quick and easy to respond to.
Not only can you communicate with other 1030 users but you can also stay connected to everyone in your phone book. The Edge 1030 will alert you to missed calls or text messages and let you respond in seconds with prewritten messages such as, “be home soon.” Your friends and family can also track your ride via the LiveTrack App.
The Edge 1030 comes with a new, and improved, in-line flush mounting system. The mount has been purposefully designed to stay in line with your handlebars and not above them to give you a clear view of your computer while giving you an uninterrupted view of the track ahead. The low profile of the Edge 1030, with the addition of the new mounting system, allows you to effortlessly switch in and out optional accessories without ruining the compact size of the device and attachment. These optional accessories such as the Garmin Charge power pack or any of Garmin’s Varia line of cycling awareness devices.
In-built Strava Live Segments pushes you even further with even further options, modes and features. Strava allows you to receive alerts for segments starts, finishes and allows you to compete against your own PR. You can also use the function to compete against friends with second-by-second comparison. Also included are new Strava features such as Segment Explore which lets you view popular Marquee Segments around you.
