improved design
this is the third mount i've bought, the locking tabs on the old ones would snap off after only a few months (usage 2-3 imes/week)
but garmin has clearly changed the design
compared to the original mount, the material of the tab that locks the unit in place is thicker and wider...
* the original was 1.5mm thick, the new one is 0.4mm thicker
* the original was 5.2mm wide, the new one is 1mm wider
...approx. 50% increase in cross-sectional area
probably more important, the recess that the tab bends into when releasing now has a rounded edge, reducing strain on the tab when releasing
overall i think these changes will make it last a lot longer
other minor changes are that the upper part of the mount is now one piece instead of two, and has "garmin" and an arrow moulded into it
if they'd come up with a better fixing method that nylon ties then i'd give it five stars

Always handy to have extra attachments for each bi
Good job having extra attachments for each bike... just twist and turn to locate on the bike you are about to ride, no need to fiddle with the attachments...quick and easy.

Replacement of original fixings
Does exactly as it says on the tin. Bands hold the mount in position, exactly the same as the original mounting that came with my Garmin.

Excellent bit of kit
The Garmin Edge bike mount fits perfectly on virtually any handlebar or handlebar stem and enables a good solid fixing for the Garmin Edge 200 GPS computer.

Secures the Garmin
Bands for two mounts, useful for 2 bikes. Original on third bike. Slight concern whether they might snap when used on larger size stems but seem ok plus with using two straps I should notice if one snaps so the garmin shouldn't fall off the bike. Another reason for using garmin straps as opposed to cheaper alternatives if there are any.

Simple fit bike computer mount
Easy to fit to bike. Depending on stem design you cannot always fit to stem. Would benefit from additional spacers that could be fitted underneath to raise the mounting bracket and allow central fitment on stem. The out-front bracket would place the computer too exposed when fitted to an mountain bike.

The cost obviously doesn't reflect the material value of the product but like a lot of things in life you've got to be prepared to get shafted.

Relatively cheap and versatile.
If you have an old Edge or more than two bikes (as one does) you need these. They are a good design and allow the Edge to be fitted to the stem of my road, MTB and TT bikes with enough adjustment to allow the screen to be visible and the buttons to be accessible.
The only downside is that the plastic retaining clip shears after prolonged use. Hence replacement. The circular, twist off setup on the more modern Garmins solves this problem. If Garmin also sold an adaptor to allow the use of the new setup with old Edge units that would be great

Does its job!
I think that the plastic release clip in this replacement is a little more durable than the one which came on the original mount with my Garmin, it seems to be lasting longer than the one which came with the unit anyway :)

Simple to assemble and rock solid
Such a simple design and yet it is bulletproof. No matter what speed, how many bumps you go over the gps will never move. It's quick to assemble and quick to add/remove the unit. No tools needed either.
