Also, it adopts the classic split clamp design, which helps to make the master cylinder easier to install on the bars and without having to remove other controls. For the caliper, it uses Hope’s unique cam and a roller system, which actuates the piston for a smoother action with no free play. The Tech 3 X2 is ideal for cross-country and light freeride use as it offers the perfect blend of low weight, power and adjustability.
The Tech 3 lever’s master cylinder is specially designed to be directly compatible with any Shimano I-Spec A or B type shifter. This means there is no extra mount required to connect the shifter to the master cylinder (just an alternative bolt in the case of the “B” type). For those using Shimano I-Spec II or SRAM shifters, Hope designed a slick and minimalistic direct mount adaptor.
