    The K-EDGE is CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminium for durability and a clean mechanical finish that integrates with all high-end gruppos. The K-Edge is also perfect for anyone who likes to keep their chain in place, improve shifting performance and protect their frame from damage caused by a derailed chain.

    The original one-off K-Edge prototype was used in Kristin Armstrong's 2008 Gold Medal Ride. It attracted enough attention from the pro cycling world that the new production K-Edge debuted in the Pro Tour peloton at the 2009 Paris-Roubaix.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality product. I have just built up an S Works & wanted a chain catcher purely as a precautionary measure. Since it's been attached the the bike I've never dropped the chain so can't comment on it's effectiveness. The product does appear to be of high quality and I like the fact that the chain catcher does provide peace of mind even though I may never have the need for it to work.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from have not had chain suck since installing this Problems with a DA crank and Cervelo S5 frame chain suck. Installed this and not had issues since, although could have been other factors. Easy to install, light weight and seems solid so won't bend when chain hits it. Can't be sure of long term effectiveness, but good for last month.

    Fitment position question?

    There are two ways this can be fitted so it's in place nearly touching the chainring. Where the bolt goes through the chain catcher it can be moved forward or backwards. In either position the chain catcher can be rotated so the other end is just clear of the chain ring. Which position should it be in? Does it matter?

    Will K-Edge work on Clamp on Derailleur?

    Specialized Tarmac has a Clamp on front Derailleur. Will the K-Edge Chain Catcher work with the clamp-on? The BB is too big for the "shark tooth" style used in Cyclo-Cross.

    This is designed for use on double chainsets. You can use it on some triples but it may need some adjustments. It would be a case of trying it out before you can be sure.

    Campag Super Record EPS

    Is this necessary when running the Campag SR EPS? The EPS is suppose to automatically trim the gear change so less likely of drop chain. Will this fit the EPS front derailleur?

    What is the maximum compatible tooth differnce?

    Hello...What is the maximum allowable number of teeth between chainrings before use of this product is rendered obsolete. Thanks

    I checked the K-Edge website which states that they managed to fit it to a 56t/38t chainset but it does depend greatly on your own setup. Front derailleur fixing bolt to the top of your inner chainring needs to be 90mm or less, ideally 85mm or less. You can even use these on triple chainsets with some adjustments and the 5mm hard to fit kit spacer.

    2010 K-Edge Braze-on Chain Catcher

    I note that the 2010 K-Edge Braze-on Chain Catcher effectively comes complete with what was the HFK - are the stock items the 2010 version as the HFK is no longer available and like many other customers i would like to use a chain catcher with Campagnolo

    Bianchi 928 B4P Campag Veloce Clip On K-Edge Chain Catcher HTK?

    I have a Bianchi 928 B4P with Campagnolo Veloce 10 speed clip on. I have read that most people with Campags say that you need the Hard To fit Kit. I then went and found that but it is discontinued. I don't really want to buy this product if I need the HTK kit which I can't get. Do you reckon that this will fit my bike without the HTK?

    I think that this only applies to older K-edges. i bought in May 2011 and the campagnolo radius washer was included with instructions on the reverse.

    Cervelo RS & Hard to fit kit

    The HTF kit is no longer available and the KEdge website says that all mounting kit is included. Could you please confirm this as I would like to install it on a Cervelo RS / Ultegra braze on.

    The K Edge cahin catcher comes with two length bolts. I put mine onto a SRAM Red FD on a Campagnolo clamp. I used the longer bolt

    Can't tell you for certain about Red, but certainly fits Force without any difficulty - took 10mins to fit, looks good and works a treat with my Force groupset and Giant TCR Adv 1. Would expect no difficulties with Red.
