Kool Stop Kool Stop Campagnolo Skeleton Brake Pads (Special 2)
I liked these blocks, they seemed to wear out a bit too quickly,
stopping power was good though

These brake pads have made a significant improvement to my campag athena brakes.
Braking is more powerful and the feel and control is vastly better.

Great replacement pad for rainy days
Great stopping power. Only downside is that they wear faster than original pads.

Simply the best pads for alloy rims
They just do the business, rim friendly, great stopping power, perform well in both the wet and the dry, what more do you want from a rim brake pad :-)

Much better than original campa
Amazing. In the wet they set a new standard. Compared to only a handful i have tried, that is. But, as highlighted, much better than original campa. You better try it!

Powerful quiet stoppers
What can I say, quiet powerful brakes in all weather conditions. Do not collect to much grime either

Bought these on the strength of other reviews, which were right. They are an improvement on the standard Campagnolo pads, especially in the wet. Have yet to see how they wear as have only done couple of hundred miles since fitting. Relatively expensive but do the job on wet rims which is needed when one lives in Wales. Slide into the Campag pad holder with a smear of Vaseline to help.

They work well
These are well worth the money, they have a very nice modulation, and you feel fully confidant in them, amazing how much this affects your riding after having used some cheaper blocks before these.

Great in the cold and wet of winter in Scotland. Good controlled stopping power.

Good in the wet
I was concerned about braking performance in the wet on what I thought were good brake pads from Lifeline. The Kool Stop are simply superb in the wet (and dry). I feel much more confident going downhill in the rain.

WOW these stop you good!
I have used, Shimano, Campag, Swisstop and many more ager market so called high performance pads for alloy rims but these are impressive! Even in the wet!

Great stopping power wet or dry
I have used the Salmon brake pads installed in my Campagnolo brakes. Stopping power in the wet far exceeds that of the standard Campag pads.

Generally all round good pads
Replaced my Campy originals with these on my mini velo daily commute bike and they peform well even good in the wet. Got some brake squeal but ok after bedding in.

Great value and nice to haver colour choice apart from boring old black. Do the job fine.

Best pads on the market
I use these pads on both my road bikes ahead of the Campy and Shimano equivalents for my Campy Athena & FSA Energy brakes (make sure you get the right ones for each brake manufacturer:
I go for the Kool Stop Dura2 for my FSA brakes and Kool Stop Campagnolo 2000 for my Athena brakes.
They last longer and perform far better in the dry or wet than any other pad I have tried including more expensive ones. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Best pads out there
These have been around a long time and they add a nice soft feel to braking. They are also hard wearing and nice and quiet.
I use salmon on the front and black on the rear.

Quick Stop, Wet or Dry.
"The original pads on my campag cyclocross brakes worked great in the dry but never inspired confidence in the wet, they also wore down at quite an alarming rate. As I cycle to work 5 days a week regardless of weather conditions I felt that it was time to look for an aftermarket alternative. I looked at various manufacturers and decided on KOOLSTOP as they were the only brand who were keen to show the backs of the pads aswell as the fronts, so I was confident they would be a like for like swap and would be able to accomodate the securing screws supplied with they campy brakes.
I decided to purchase the Dual Compound pads and although Wiggle had none in stock when I placed my order they were delivered to my door within a week which was very pleasing, (thanks Wiggle).
The pads came nicely packaged as 1 pair (so to replace front and back brakes two packs are needed). After sliding out the original pads it was quite easy to push the KOOLSTOPs into the campy holders, they do not glide in but will sit in comfortably with patience and a firm hand. The pads sit out a little at the rear of the holder as they are longer than the stock pads to further enhance braking. They fit very well and there s a perfectly located hole for a retaining screw. I had opted for the Dual Compound pad and I think that it looks rather unusual and great in the campy holders.
Once I had aligned the brakes which was necessary due to the extra depth of the new pads I was ready to give them a test. The first run was in the dry and the pads were quiet and proved to be very effecitve from the start, They were very quick to bite but also easy to control and they certainly gave me confidence particularly on downhills with no fade at all and a grip I had never experianced before. The next morning I was off to work and as usual it was raining. Once again the KOOLSTOPs filled me with confidence, they were consistantly quiet despite rain, puddles and some mud. The stopping power was always there, if a little dab of the brakes was applied or a more aggresive quick stop was needed these KOOLSTOPs did not fail me, I cannot believe how four little bits of rubber have impressed me, filled me with confidence and quite literally transformed the way I ride in the wet and on downhill runs.
I have now had these pads on my bike for 500 miles and they still look pretty much like new. The same stopping power is there and they seem very durable. I occasionaly clean them with some soapy water and a toothbrush to freshen them up but other than that they are happy to just do their job - Stop. Awesome."
