I’m sure a set of bolt croppers would make short work of the cable but it will put off the opportunist thief. I use in combination with D-locks as an extra layer of security

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secure and multipurpose This is one of a number of locks/security I have on our two electric mountain bikes. Its good for going through metal hoops in the floor of the shed and securing both the bikes and the removable bits (wheels etc). Its also long enough to give us piece of mind when the bikes are on a carrier on the motorhome. The cable can be threaded through the sub-frame, bike carrier and bikes.

I've used these for quite a few years now, great length for threading through multiple bikes, combined with a Good lock a fantastic deterant to an opertunist, loop ends even stayed looped after a fire that Melted bikes! Enough reason for me to get another!
