Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super solid mallet Really nice mallet. Has sand in the head which gives a nice damping effect. The overall weight is surprisingly light. Grip is super comfy. If you're a musician you could even sample this for a maraca-like percussion effect.

Is this a 'dead blow' hammer?

Is this a 'dead blow' hammer, in other words, does it have a hollow head filled with (usually) lead shot to eliminate rebound? Easy to tell as the head will rattle when you shake it.
