Customer Reviews

LifeLine TT-02 Fluid Trainer is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 66.
Rated 5 out of 5 by ARoadCyclist from 3 Month Review Bought this as a “short term” replacement for my NEO2 warranty repair. It’s been a great turbo trainer and I can’t speak highly enough. I also bought a Planet X wheel on trainer and it is almost identical in appearance. As a short term review I’d certainly recommend it. Great value, good resistance and so far can’t fault the performance. Wiggle as good as ever in terms of quality and service.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WillyWest from Simple but effective At this price point, this is good value kit. It's self assembly and the instructions don't make it obvious, but once up and running it's dead easy to set up and use and pretty robust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Josh54321 from Great trainer for cheap. I didn't want to spend lots on a 'Smart' trainer, and this is the perfect product. This is a great companion to a Wahoo bolt along with with speed, cadence and heart rate sensors (I imagine other computers work perfectly well too) to give some settings to your practice. Recently I also signed-up for Sufferfest and this is a perfect companion app, which can also give you an estimated power reading, which is nice (albeit not sure how trustworthy) - using the 'generic fluid trainer setting'. During some sprint efforts it has made some LOUD buzzes and whirrs, but has held steady throughout. Re. noise, I can comfortably watch rugby matches on the TV, with the volume up a bit, or other programmes, however I imagine it'd be annoying for anyone not on the trainer. It also folds down relatively well - I slide it underneath the coffee table when not in use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by 425679 from Part didn't fit This trainer is great and I am using it every day. The issue I had is that it came with one of the pieces not fitting correctly, and the advice I got from customer services (after it took them ages to reply) was to go to a DIY shop and buy a replacement. Shame really because I used to come to wiggle for everything.

Q & A

Power curve?

Is there a power curve or any data on speed:power for this trainer?
Asked by: Togglemonger
I rode twice on this trainer, and my powermeter (Stages Shimano 105 5800) gave me the following data. 100 W = 23km/h 190 W = 30km/h 300 W = 35km/h 400 W = 40km/h The first couple of minutes the resistance is a bit higher (~10%)

Is this trainer zwift compatible?

Asked by: Mugur
I can see wiggle staff answer was not very helpful. It will work with zwift using the estimated power feature. It will require a cadence sensor attached to your bike, suggeste bluetooth as this will work with Zwift on ipad as well as PC

Is it best to use a specific turbo tyre with this trainer?

I don't want to trash my GP4000s if I don't have to!! Thanks
Asked by: WUFCEd
I would suggest using a trainer tyre as these are more durable and are designed specifically for trainers.

Difference between TT-01 and TT-02

Can someone please tell me what is the difference between these two trainers? Is it a big difference between magnetic and fluid trainer? Thank you.
Asked by: Tanja17
The fluid have a better resistance to it. It will also be quieter than the magnetic

Mounting/demounting from TT-02 Fluid trainer

Hi, I'm no cyclist but this could be a present for my wife who is a keen cyclist. However I suspect that I'll be the one mounting and demounting the bike form the trainer and I'm wondering how easy / or not it is. Could you give me quick step by step/idiots guide please.
Asked by: Stamfordboy2001
Installation is quick and easy. Stand the bike in the centre of the cradle, then turn the handles to wind the clamp in. This will clamp the bike bike by the heads of the quick release skewer supplied.

Widest axle size this will fit?

What is the widest axle size this will fit? Will it take 135 and 148 size rear axled bikes? Thanks
Asked by: Lampost
I’ve used it with a single speed road bike and multi geared MTB. Can’t think of any bike that wouldn’t fit in it from an axle perspective. Huge gap that can be securely tightened onto the bike, added lock rings too!

Which thru axle adapter?

Which thru axle adapter would work on this? I have a 12x142 setup on the rear. Thanks.
Asked by: Mudal87
We can recommend the Kinetic Thru Axle to allow your bike to be compatible with the turbo trainer.

Out the saddle ok?

I tried cycling out of the saddle but the wheel was slipping. Is this just a tension issue as I presume the trainer allows you to cycle out of the saddle? Thanks David.
Asked by: Delvardio
I found that a combination of tyre pressure and roller tension will get you to a point where the tyre doesn't slip without the roller being set too tight against the wheel - it just takes a bit of trial and error. I can give it some proper welly out of the saddle.

Can you get alternative skewers?

I've moved from a thin rear axle bike to a Yeti with a 15mm thru axle on the rear. Does Lifeline/Brand-X sell alternative skewers to accommodate different axle diameters?
Asked by: AndySP
If you have a thru axle on the rear this will very likely be 12mm as 15mm is used on the front. In this case you can use the attached kit.
