does the jobI purchased quite a while back and I've done a couple of bike builds and loads of maintenance.
It is strong and easy to use. I have had some pretty heavy bikes clamped in it and one bike lives in it.
It is bolted to a RSJ in the workshop and works well

Better if mounted from aboveThe clamp centre to base center is only 8in/203mm. This doesn’t give much clearance for bike pedals, depending how it is mounted on a workbench. An alternative is to mount the clamp from above. In my case I used a five foot steel pipe and two flanges to mount the clamp from ceiling rafters. The particular flange I used required drilling four holes in the clamp base as shown in the photo.
The clamp itself is very functional with good ergonomics.
