Description

Do You Even Enduro?

Developed with input from top Enduro champions, the Enduro Mid MTB Shoes cut no corners when it comes to giving you the performance required to deliver your very best on the bike. Starting with the sole unit, Northwave's exceptional enduro-specific X-Fire Michelin sets the standard for traction on any terrain and pedal system. Twin compound rubber and a tread pattern based on Michelin MTB tyres grab hold of the ground and just won't let go. The exclusive X-Crossbow construction enhances flexibility and responsiveness to soak up bumps while the cleat area makes clipping into pedals quick and intuitive - foot out, dab, clip in - all in an instant.

Comfortable Protection

The mid-height upper protects the ankle bone from unexpected hits from hidden obstacles at the trailside while toe reinforcements, derived from motocross tech, ensure rocks, roots and stumps won't knock you off your stride - or pedal stroke in this case. The thermo-welded upper gives a comfortable and sleek finish to the shoe and internal thermo-welded reinforcements enhance foot protection too.

SLW2 Dial Closure System

Next comes the precision of the SLW2 dial closure system. When you're at full gas you don't want to be worried about an ill-fitting shoe - this system ensures complete comfort and a secure fit at all times. A simple twist tightens the shoe step-by-step, then a single button micro-adjusts tension, loosening step-by-step. For the full release, pull the button upwards. Simple, light, tough and precise.

Whether you're racing Enduros for fun or for the win or simply love to push your limits on local MTB trails, the Enduro Mid MTB Shoes won't hold you back as you step up your performance to new heights.

Magazine Reviews

Review from Singletrack

The inboard cleat position pushes your outwards a little, but it's very comfy... Pedalling, the shoes are very stiff, yet grip off the bike is terrific; they're the grippiest shoe of this type I've ever tried...The flexyheel is great, and the closure system works very well...

In conclusion...

These are genuinely great, comfy, grippy shoes - but do try them on for size before you buy. Apart from that issue, there's a whole lot to like here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by stilloutonmybike from poorly made tightening system broke 1st ride I have a lot of Northwave equipment and have always been pleased with the quality.but the enduro mid are poorly finished all the Velcro is coming adrift the closing system failed on the first ride and took 8 weeks for northwave to repair them .the slightest amount of water and feet soaking wet ..A very disappointing purchase .I also contacted Northwave .who were not interested .I would also add this the FIRST bad review i have left in 5 years. There are much better products available.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LiamP88 from A good looking shoe with an identity crisis I was really looking forward to trying these on after a cold and wet journey home one day. When I took them out of the box they looked good. As I started to pull the tissue paper out of the end of the shoe, imagine my surprise when I saw my fingers through the outside of the shoe. I suddenly thought I have might have X-ray vision, but imagine my surprise when I realised these shoes are mainly made of a mesh material! They appear to be an all year round mountain bike shoe ideal for mild rain conditions. If you were going for a bike ride in really warm conditions where your feet might get hot then you will like these. However, a hint of a puddle and your feet are going to get wet and cold. They also have this strange device to tighten and loosen the shoe. However the catch is actually rather sharp and as my hands were still cold when I got home, this was not very pleasant. In short, although the this shoe looks sturdy warm and rugged, it is actually designed for completely the opposite terrain. If you wanted to ride in rugged terrain in the Spanish mountains in summer, then this might suit you. If you are in UK, in anything other than completely dry conditions, then this isn't for you. Mine are going back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ArkadionAUS from Great all rounder These are fantastic. Easy to setup and comes with some nice extras I wasn't expecting. The shoes are a little difficult to slide into during the first few wears but quickly loosen up. I like the extra sole attachment that replaces the cleat fitment section if you decide to go hiking with the same shoes. The rubber protectors for the adjustment latch are great too. Iv'e already used these to carry my bike around on a ride/hike and the shoes are very grippy. They don't scuff easily and look great too!

Rated 4 out of 5 by bikeorski4me from Best shoe I've ever owned....nearly perfect This is the best shoe I've ever owned and am very happy with it overall, it is not perfect but very close. It is very well built, solid in all respects, nearly as easy to walk in as normal hiking shoes and the Michelin sole offers great traction. I have approximately 20 All Mountain rides in these shoes and other than dirt are showing no wear. The shoe fits to size but is quite roomy so do not upsize if you're looking for a little extra room, stick to size. There are three small criticisms that keep them from having five stars; 1) The rubberized caps that cover the BOA like dial readily fall off and are going to eventually be lost, they are not essential however are helpful in protecting the dial and keeping the muck out. 2) The Velcro strap is overly long but can be trimmed if needed. 3) The cleat channel is quite deep and until I added a thin spacer under the cleats really struggled with engagement.

NW sizing question, advice please

I like the design and reviews I have read about this shoe, but need a size recommendation. I am wearing a 47 in Pearl Izumi X-Alp and fluctuate between 12 and 12.5 US in running shoes, so unsure whether a 45 or 46 in the NW Euro Mid is best for me due to the toe and width. Your advice? Thanks in advance.
Asked by: kcdub27
Couldn't even get the 45 on and toe contact with the 46. This is based on my experience trying them on at the Sea Otter. AMER riders be advised these shoes definitely run small. Definitely need a 47 which unfortunately NW does not produce. Bummer. I don't think a 47 is unreasonable and really wanted to buy this shoe.
