Hopeless with the right tools
If you need to extract a stubborn Hollowtech or MegaExo BB then this is the tool to use. It's hefty enough to stand being hit with a club hammer; mind you fingers though. On reflection, if you need to tighten the BB with the crank in place, the Shimano BB tool might be a better choice; though I doubt it's as sturdy.

High quality tool
Very high quality made tool. Allows me to do more diy on the bike such as stripping it down and cleaning up all nice or replacing worn parts. It is easy to do and will pay for itself after one use so just get it and get workig on your bike yourself.

Park Tools Hollowtech BB & Crank Arm Tool
This is a well made tool that does part of its job fine but has one drawback. The BB tool end seems to be fine but the crank arm tool is just a knobbly plastic disc with the right sized splines that rotates freely on the other end. It is designed like this because you are not meant to tighten the cap excessively when fitting the crank arm and to achieve this you just use your fingers on the knobbles round the outside of the disc. However there is no ratchet or other locking mechanism so you only have the same finger torque available for dismantling. This was an issue for me because the cap was mildly stuck. I had to use a Stillson to turn it. The plastic will not take too much of this. Get a crank arm tool that can be used more positively if you expect to be removing stuck crank caps.

Works on Megaexo
used on FSA Megaexo BB. Excellent fit, does the job at no time.

Top quality tool!
I looked at some cheaper options but their reviews were patchy, so bought this instead. As you would expect from Park, the quality is top notch. It is a very simple tool and just does the one job. However, when you have just paid for a new XT hollow tech II bottom bracket, you don't want to mess it up with a poor fitting tool. I used this to fit a new BB in my 2006 Rockhopper (after getting my LBS to face and chase the frame - very important!) and the job was very simple. I guess I should get some use out of it on my road bike also, and my mates bikes no doubt..... Highly recommended.

Quality comes at a price
Yes Park tools may be slightly more expensive than other brands but there is a clear cut reason, quality, quality and more quality, never skimp on tools! As a tool it performs effortlessly and superbly every time I have used it.

Brill tool
Really easy tool to use. You can replace the bottom.braclet within minutes.

Necessary for hollowtech swap
Does the intended job perfectly, tightens the bearing cups and the crank cap.
Easy to use and full surround means no danger of slipping.

Does the job
As expected from Park Tools, a strong/sturdy bit of kit.
I'm not sure what the wheel at the other end is meant to do though? Patterns on pastry.

Great product great price
All the tools I've bought so far have been park tools don't like saying this but you get what you pay for and if you want to service and replace inverst in decent tools they will pay for themselves I'm not knocking local bike shops but sone round my area are getting cheeky with there pricing now so I'm doing a lot of the work myself and enjoying it so park for me from now on.

Does what it says on the tin
Being Park it just works. Good quality but it is strange it does not come with the adaptor needed for today's hollowtech fitting (which comes with the BB)

Does the job but I had to improvise
I had to change out my old XT BB on a Scott Spark 40 2012 and found that I struggled to sit the tool flush onto the face of the BB as the outer rim of the tool was being hindered by the chain stays. This resulted in a slip off the BB which left the BB with gashed dents in the soft metal. I got it off eventually. Lucky it wasn't to be used again. When I installed the replacement XTR BB, I went to the length of removing the pivot points where the chain stay meets the frame to enable the tool to sit flush. Also worth noting that the newer XTR BB has a smaller face and you have to use the adapter that comes with it in order to use the tool.

A lovely tool
Park tools just reek of quality and this one is no exception.

Good, but not long enough.
This is a good quality tool, and the head engages well with the notches on the BB, but I needed more leverage than the tool could provide on its own to remove a non-seized, but resistant BB. In the end I used an oversized seat post as an extension tube to provide the necessary torque.

Strong enough but can be bent
The arm is strong enough but not very wide and if using a lot of force to undo that bottom bracket that just won't budge can be bent sideways.
More robust than the tools that are C shaped but you will need to take your pedal arms off to get at the bottom bracket with this tool.
The cassette spanner at the end is next to useless and frankly you would do better with a tool that fits on a socket wrench.
Expensive for what it is but cheaper and better than some of the alternatives.

Good item
Quality item. Does exactly what it needs to. Feels solid.
07 August 2015
Simple to use
Cannot go wrong with this. Very easy to use and connection points are a great fit.
05 August 2015
Does the job well
Great engagement from both parts of tool, no slipping or chance of rounding bearing cups.

Not man enough
This crank arm tool will last a life time, because you will never use it,
the tool is 11 inches long, at least 4 inches short for any bottom bracket worth its torque
This 11 inches includes the wheel which leads you hunting for rags and gloves to protect you hands as you struggle to find every last once of leverage. You can not even find addition help by slotting a suitable bar on the end, its not as if you use your new carbon frame to pull against. I don.t think extra frame stiffness helps here.
Trying hard to come up with some positives after use, (Used a Lezyne BB socket with adjustable spanner in the end}
1: the wheel is fixed with hex bolt, this would allow suitable torque wrench to be used for the low values required for crank tensioning bolt
2: Because I did not want to buy another torque wrench of this one job I used the crank arm tool to tighten bottom bracket, aware that I could never exceed the max torque of the bottom bracket, I felt I had more feel over pressure exerted than that of the BB socket
I never tried my socket for this. ( I think, this was just an excuse to use the tool once, and not try out wiggles return procedure, which i am sure would be faultless)

classic park tools job, works well
does the job, what more can you ask from a tool? as always, park tools come up with the goods

Buy the right tool the first time
Buying a tool because of price is a waste of time. I had a lowere quality bb tool previously and always struggled with the splines lining up.
I bought the Park, and the quality and function are just better.
Buy it once, spend a little more, and ultimately save yourself some money.

Simple but effective.
It is not 'deluxe' tool but a simple lump of metal cut to shape. However it works well. The fact that it is heavy does not matter as you really don't need this tool for anything other than one specific task.
29 June 2015
Solid reliable
Solid reliable as you'd expect from this brand. Won't need to buy another!
15 June 2015
Excellent quality tool
Yep, I have used this tool in anger and I can confirm it effectively removes a hollowtech II bottom bracket. Park tool quality should mean that it gives many years of service. Comfy to use, plenty longer enough to get lots of leverage, this ones a winner.
