Description

With most manufacturers recommending to replace your chain at 0.75% stretch, the Chain Checker CC-2 will quickly and precisely let you know if you are over or under. As over worn chains can cause poor shifting and uneven drivetrain wear, having an accurate gauge to hand won't just save your chain, but can also save the full functionality of your bike.

Reading wear from 0.25% to 1%, the CC-2 is compatible with 9/10/11-speed chains and measures the stretch by simply inserting the pins between two links and pressing the swing-arm gauge tight to read your accurate reading in the gauge window.

(Note: For 9/10-speed chains, replace the chain at or before the 0.75% reading, and for 11/12-speeds, replace before the 0.5% reading. Always check with the manufacturer for any specific replacement instructions and recommendations.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by DubaiNeil from Wow! Like most people prepared to wield a spanner/allen key/screwdriver on their own pride & joy, you get to a point when you appreciate a really well made tool that does just what it says it will... It does just one thing, and it does it well - even if my own internal logic wants to disagree :) The only thing I am not impressed by is that the tool body is engraved (really nicely) with "OK at this point" and "replace at this point" - BUT that doesn't apply (in the same way) to 11 or 12-speed group sets, so you need to RTF(paper)M that comes with the tool for those group sets that are "almost" the standard these days. The fact that this is not an insurmountable obstacle (for a man with bikes in the family that run from fixie to 11-speed DA or SR and many other in between) still rates it 5* - as you should really be able to understand what it is telling you....

The tool doesn't fit

Hi, I bought this chain checker, and cant seem to insert the two ends between the links of my chain, because the distance between the two pins of the tool is too long. I have a 11 speed ultegra chain, only done about 1000kms. Not sure if it doesn't fit because: 1. The tool was damaged/faulty - the pin on the black slider isn't perfectly perpendicular, but at a slight angle. Is that meant to be the case? The packaging looked to be in good condition. 2. My chain is incompatible - but I can't think of why this would be the case. 3. I'm using the tool incorrectly - But I am setting the adjuster to zero, and it still doesn't fit.

The pin on the black slider has to be perpendicular , but yes, I think this shabby

Will this work on sram AXS 12-speed?

There's no compatibility comment in the Key Features section. Also I heard that Sram AXS 12-speed is different from Eagle 12-speed. If it is compatible, are there any differences to check the chain?
