Description

This system from PowerTap is simple. A one-piece design easily mounts to any crank and does not require calibration nor installation angle setting, providing a true “plug-and-play” experience. With no pods to attach, the electronics are all contained within the body of the Look Keo compatible pedal making it clean and unobtrusive.



The P1 also features dual band ANT+ and Bluetooth SMART for compatibility with a multitude of head units and smart devices. Plus, the independent measurement opens the possibility for a new set of pedaling metrics previously unavailable to help give you the ultimate competitive edge.

We will happily refund any item purchased on Wiggle if returned to us within 365 days; excluding Wiggle gift vouchers, nutrition and customised products, except when faulty.

Please note: Bikes and other bulky items cannot be returned using our local returns service (where applicable). Please contact us and we can arrange to collect these from you using our discounted courier rates. There is a fee for all collections, except for faulty products.

Returned goods must be unused and supplied with their original packaging, unless the goods are faulty. Wiggle will pay the return postage costs for any faulty items.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overpriced, buggy and poor warranty support. Avoid Bought a pair of Powertap pedals, to help with my training but to be honest they've been nothing but hassle. They're easy to fit, but they constantly throw up an error message saying the right pedal is missing and despite constant firmware updates and battery cover replacement there's no improvement. Coupled with the fact that PowerTap have a very poor warranty and charge £140 for a service to fix any issues, it ends up being a very expensive way to get some power data.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good power option Got these about a month ago and I have loved using them. Super easy to switch between bikes. Accuracy is spot on. Connectivity is fast and consistent. Using power with my workouts has really helped me to dial in my sessions and get the most from my riding boosting my improvements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Such a good Investment I purchased these to replace my very old Powertap 2.4 hub and are absolutely rapped with the upgrade. They were super easy to install and I really love how I can move them between my Road, Mountain, Time Trial, and Track bikes to get power data.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ultimately disappointing and expensive Initially I was pleased with these pedals. Very easy to change between bikes and seeming accurate. I made significant gains by being able to target different power ranges and added about 30 watts to my ftp despite being nearly 50 and was able to learn about myself much better for pacing. up hills Here is the downside. After just over 2 years the left hand bearing seized. I sent them to be repaired and the only solution was either a £320 reconditioned pedal or £490 crash replacement service. I've spend abut £500 a year to be able to measure power or about £10 a week. Not really worth it. I'd recommend shorter cranks too as I have grounded them out going round corners. Unless you really need to switch between bikes I'd go for a different option which is more robust and less likely to fail

Replacement cleats

I note that cleats specific to these pedals are included. Do Wiggle sell replacement PowerTap cleats and are they readily available?

Are these pedals compatible with Look Keo cleats?

One of the reviewers says that the cleats are Look. However the PowerTap website say 'Note: PowerTap P1 pedals must be used with the included cleats. They are NOT compatible with other similar looking cleats like Look Keo.' Which is correct? Is there a potential safety issue in using Look Keo cleats with these pedals?

Could you switch these between a normal on the road bike and an exercise bike?

Garmin Cycling Dynamics?

Do the PowerTap P1 pedals provide exactly the same data as Garmin Vector 2 pedals when used in conjunction with a Garmin Edge 520? Full functionality ?

updating firmware - can only be done via iPhone??

just bought a pair of these from Wiggle - excellent fast service as usual. But on getting the items, apparently to update the firmware you must download an app on an iPhone. The app is https://itunes.apple.com/cz/app/powertap-mobile/id672266418?mt=8# is there any other way to update the firmware? I do not own an iPhone or tablet that uses iOS (or even Android for that matter). I have read that upon receipt of the pedals you should update the firmware as there are issues?? It doesn't mention this detail in the information about the pedals. I intended pairing them with a Garmin 810 0r 510.I have no way of updating the pedals firmware :-(
