Good item but cable missingI already used one of these brackets on my long distance bike to attach a barbag, and it was very secure and easy to use with the appropriate bag. I ordered this second bracket to use on my commuter bike so I could swap my bag between the bikes. The system works well, and there is no rotation of the bracket when the bag is heavy, HOWEVER, the cable was missing from this bracket that stops rotation. I used some brake cable instead as needed it urgently. Good system, shame the cable was missing.

good product but difficult to fitSturdy locking system. However the oversized handle bar grips were too big for my Cannondale racer and the small too small. Plus very difficult to feed wire through.

Good butIt is good, but we have found it difficult to tighten so when there is weight in the basket it doesn't drop!

strongest bracketFit is great on my wife's bike. She has added the large shopping bag. It can take lots of shopping. Only problem is where to fit the lights.
Does this package come with the 2 oversize clamps for Ø 31,8mm handlebars?
Asked by: Adsbarnes
Yes Comes with two sets of clamps one for the smaller dia handlebars and another for the 31.8 size.

Can it be removed without replacing the cable ?
With the equivalent Ortlieb fixing, it is almost impossible to remove without damaging the cable, so you have to replace the cable each time. Is that also true of the Rixen Kaul fixing? Can you reuse the cable?
Asked by: monxton
I have used both Ortlieb and now the KlickFix. I much prefer the KlickFix and have swapped out my Ortlieb mounts. The cable doesn't have to fit through such a tiny hole so reusing is easy as long as you don;t go overboard on tightening the screws (you don;t have to!)

Asked by: JuliaLim
Yes, I have this Ortlieb bag and it fits on the KlickFix mount with no problems.

Is it possible to get spare parts for these?
One of the two 'c'-shaped clips which pass round the back of the handlebars has snapped.
Asked by: Profundo
We do not stock these spare parts seperately, I would contact Rixen kaul direct to see if they can get hold of the parts you require.

does the fittings come with the Altura handbar bags and do they fit al size handlebars
Asked by: carnancha
Yes the fittings are included with the bags that require them. They will fit standard and Oversized bars, some bags require you to purchase the Klikfix oversized adapters though as linked below.

How wide is the Klickfix handlebar adapter?
I want to attach it to a Trikidoo which has swept up bars that are only flat for about 4" in the middle.

Fitting with front suspension and threadless stem
Will I be able to fit this on a town type bike but with both front suspension and a threadless stem? It looks like it fixed directly to the bars only so might be what I'm looking for.
Asked by: Bluezebra
Yes this bracket would be compatible with your bike.

Does this Klickfix product come with the backing plate and click-in plate that attach to the handlebar bag?
Asked by: WPH1
I can advise that this bracket does not come with the backing plates, the plates should come supplied with the KlickFix compatible bags.

Weight/maximum load
What is the maximum load that this will carry safely before it bends or breaks?
I have used a decathlon own brand basket in the past and the max load that the bracket would take was only 5 kilos.
Asked by: Cyckljuve
The manufacturer recommend a maximum weight capacity of this clamp at 7 Kg.

Distance between the Klickfix handlebar loops
On the Rixen & Kaul bicycle handlebar adapter, what is the internal distance between the two loops that go around the handlebars? And what is the width of the loops themselves?
Asked by: Anstey
The distance between the two clamps is 56mm and the bracket is supplied with both 22-26mm clamps and 31.8mm clamps.
