Schwalbe Lugano II K-Guard Wire Tyre is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by chris125 from Good value, do the job, look pretty good, Look, lets face it, you can have tough rugged tyres that don't puncture when they come within 50 feet of a pointy bit of gravel, or you can have light and fast rolling. You can have real skin walls that cost half the price of a mid range bike, or you can have black tyres with yellowish paint on the walls that cost less than a round of espresso's but still look the part. So if you are chasing KOM's or trying to keep up with those that do, these tyres aren't for you. But if you don't feel like you have anything to prove to people on Strava you've never met who are probably cheating anyway, don't like fixing flats too often and want to add a splash of colour to your bike these will fit the bill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Richie5 from Winter choice I’ve had these fitted on my winter bike for a few years. They have stood up well to regular winter commuting on small rough roads Very tight fit on my wheels. Could be wheels cause, but not looking forward to a puncture with cold hands

Rated 5 out of 5 by Paul3363 from Upgrade rubber Over 5000 miles and starting to get a few punctures I decided a time to upgrade my 17mm original treads. Researched if I could in fact upgrade to slightly wider tyres as seems to be the in thing and discovered these would be ideal with CXP5 rims without upgrading them at this point in time. Fitted nice and snug to the rims and looked great to have a minimal tread once again for rolling stock. I noticed a big difference with the increase from 18 - 25 and at the very start the ride seemed a little off for me, but after a couple of miles I don’t notice the change at all now and am happy with the change. All round I think this is a good all round tyre, build to roll well but also offer cornering grip without being chunky knobbly tyres as I use on my MTB. For the racer in you, I think there are other options, but for those of us wanting a great tyre that’s robust for a sedentary Sunday hack for me they are a great choice and well pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slickwheels from Great tyres At the age of 72 I decided that I should be entitled to a little more comfort on my road bike so I invested in a pair of Schwalbe 25 mm and hung up my 23’s for good. Well this was a transformation! Riding at 100 psi instead of 120 makes all the difference to comfort but very little in times and distances. I found myself getting gold stars on Strava where I was beating section times I had set 5 to 6 years ago! I have been riding Schwalbe 28’s on my GT winter bike but had always thought that for optimum performance on my Giant Carbon summer bike that 23’s were the best option. I just wish I had made the change years ago!

    Q & A

Is maximum weight on these really 65kg?

    Asked by: Mimmzi
65kg each is fairly standard for road tires. that's 130kg for the whole bike. Realistically, even a rear tyre will never experience 65kg of weight unless jumping or hitting large rocks etc
