Durable and fast
Perfect hub for building a durable wheel. Laced to MAvic hubs and the result is fantastic.

Good quality at a reasonable price
I already had a wheel with an identical hub, but the free hub, bearings, axle and skewer needed replacing. Referring to online videos, it was easy to swap all of these parts from the new hub to the existing shell and save rebuilding the wheel. Adjustment and maintenance is easy with cone spanners and Allen keys.

Quality and dependability at a reasonable price.
As above, but it is a modern throw away item. It can't easily be repaired and upgraded etc. I have old Campag, Suntour, Normandy and Blumfield hubs etc that are 30+ years old and still performing well. Not much heavier either. Building and keeping your bike maintained and running efficiently was all part of cycling once.

Quality at great price!!!
I was juggling between this or Ultegra 6800 hub. Though the ultegra has better features and a tad lighter and at 41% discount it was an easy decision.
Bought the Silver version, it has nice finish and built quality is typical Shimano.
Bearing is smooth though a bit tight (not a problem, it is adjustable). Personally I like the minimal sound of the hub.
Delivery to Malaysia is 14 working days which I think is reasonable.
Overall I think this product is great to build a solid and reliable wheel on a budget.
Great value!!! Highly recommended.

FH-RM70 Replacement?
Is this a suitable replacement for a Shimano FH-RM70 36 hole rear hub with a 9 speed cassette? If not, what is a suitable replacement? I am finding it difficult to find any information about replacement of the FH-RM70. Many thanks.
Asked by: faygatecycles
Yes this 105 hub would serve as a suitable replacement to the Acera hub you have. The 105 hub is 11spd compatible as well.

wheel compatibility
Hi I am looking to purchase a 105 ii speed rear hub and cassette. Would this item be compatible with the DT swiss rear wheel i have on my Specialized Roubaix sport 2012 model. Would i need to change the shifters also the bike has already got 105 shifters on it
Asked by: dalricko
You would need to have the rear wheel re-built with new spokes on to this hub.
To use an 11 speed cassette you would also need to replace the rest of the drivetrain with 11 speed components.
It is not advised to mix and match any 10 and 11 speed items.
