Upgrade from 6700
Excellent upgrade for the price, i am running 105 5750 on the winter bike and bought this to replace the 6700 hollowtech 2 that i used, works perfect, very simple switch. Easy because shimano supply the new version hollowtech tool with this bottom bracket, simples!!

Easy to Fit
Simple, light easy to fit. Comes with a little plastic adaptor to allow you to use a hollowtech tool to fit it.

This is a quality upper end product at a bargain basement price. The outside diameter of the cups is slightly smaller than the standard tool that does the job, but a plastic adaptor ring is included in the box, which not only allows you to use the standard tool but protects the splines at the same time. as sometimes even when care is taken the tool slips and damages the aluminium splines.

not a problem fitting this to my Planet X pro Carbon.
It simply screwed in and the thread lock which was pre applied to the thread held it in place.
Nice and quiet, and very stiff.

installed this BB as part of an upgrade from sora to 105 on my Spesh road bike. Easy to install, fully compatible with 105 crank of course, no adaptations or even special tools required. It has stayed rock solid and 100% smooth over the winter, so another great piece of fit and forget from Shimano.

Good fit, Smooth cranks with this b/b.
Great value for money b/b. Easy fit and smooth peddling. Goes great wth the hollowtech 6750 c/set.

Great replacement for mega Exo FSA BB
Bought this to replace my mega exo BB. No issues with install, quality part so far.

Perfect replacement for shoddy FSA BB
This was bought as a replacement for a terrible FSA MegaExo bottom bracket that had ground to a halt very quickly. The direct replacement was expensive compared to the Shimano option and I'd heard they were interchangeable.
The diameter of the BB has reduced since the original HTII versions so a plastic adapter is supplied in the pack. However, for some reason my BB tool would not quite fit around the adapter so I used a pipe wrench directly on the plastic adapter to tighten the BB.
Anyway, since fitting, the BB rotates silently, without the horrible clicking, graunching and lateral play I had with the previous unit.
All in all, very happy!

Does the job at a reasonable price
Bought to replace worn out 105 BB.
A doddle to fit (as always I recommend using some magic green Phil Wood grease).
Unless you're pro or thereabouts I really can't see the point of spending any more.

Great but you may need a new BB tool
Usual great Shimano quality bearing. The one problem is the outer diameter is smaller than the old HT2.standard so the BB comes with a plastic adapter to fit inside older BB tools. This works well for stamped metal ring types like Shimano and the Lifeline copy but not for the ice tools or Pedro socket types. I had to buy another tool (now have 3 HT2 BB tools)

So Easy to Fit
This is a great product/smaller than than the 6700 but just as solid
17 October 2015
The outer dimension has changed, so my BB tool dosen't fit, however a plastic adaptor is included.
Usually these BB dosen't last long, and I suspect this won't either, but it's cheap and easy to fit.

Looks great, top quality, very smooth action and at a good price..

Easy to fit
After great advice from the Wiggle on a replacement, this BB was posted quickly. Already greased for fitting it screwed into place easily. Great price great BB. Cheers

it works. has worked for several hundred miles. good brand confidence

Great, Very Smooth
Excellent bearings very smooth, perfect for the job :)

After replacing square taper with this, I have noticed an improvement in smoothness and less lex.

Arrived in good time. Looks good and fitted easily but too soon to assess properly. The outer is a smaller diameter than the one it replaces. There is a plastic spacer between the left crank and the left bearing which was sized for the old bearing but exceeds the new bearin's diameter. It looks odd but seems to function alright. Why hasn't Shikano included a new diameter spacer?

Good quick service from wiggle and easy to install. Unfortunately not long after installing started to creak. Have sprayed lube into bearing area and this does quieten it for a short while. At the minute the creaking is really annoying and has certainly got worse. I wish I'd just put the boat out and went for a Hope bottom bracket, might still consider one .

My first install saw the LH plastic axle support collapse on inserting the FSA Gossamer axle. Seems to be a slight weakness with the way the plastic support is designed, no taper, no lip, nothing to stop it sliding off the bearing and getting caught skewiff half out of the bearing. Mine mine did this and broke up. With extra care next time should be able to make sure it goes in okay.
I didn't down-rate too highly, because the FSA items on various other bikes don't suffer the above problem, having the bearings supporting the axle directly, but the various FSA ones had terrible sealing and fell apart in no time. I'm sure the Shimano can't be worse once a new one is installed...

Simple and easy to fit
I am in the process of putting to bed some cycle mechanicing demons from working on bikes as a kid (a long time ago) and so found this bottom bracket a delight to fit as part of my building my own bike!

Replacement for 5600
Fits fine and with only limited mileage so far seems to work well.
Took a lot of time researching to establish that this could directly replace my existing 5600 BB for which I struggled to find a direct replacement. Perhaps the fact that all Hollowtech II BB's are compatible should be included in item description.
09 September 2015
Sleeker and smoother than previous versions and throw away prices - black matches my bike :)
05 September 2015
As good as it gets
If you need a new hollowtech BB don't get anything else simply as. Nice and smooth when used in all weathers.
02 September 2015
As a result of wrecking the thread on my Shimano chainset, I upgraded the system to a Shimano 105 triple including a bottom bracket with external bearings. This worked really well - easy to fit, cured the regular creaks and groans from the internal bearings and has proved to have a significantly longer, smooth running and trouble free life. Fit it and forget it - what more would you want?

Top quality and hard wearing
For a bottom bracket this one is brilliant. Hard wearing and fantastic quality.
01 September 2015
very light, smooth running. cheap.
I have never fitted a bottom bracket before. This was dead easy as it happens. This bracket looks very well made and was extremely light.

Had a lot of Tiagra BB 4600 and 6700 and never experiences any issues. With the BB 6800, it is making noise when I step on the pedals to climb hills. The sound is not coming from other components as I test replacing pedals, installing BB with grease, teflon tape etc...
25 August 2015
dead easy to fit, excellent quality
The low-profiile shape looks great and the quality seems spot on.
Dead easy to install with my 105 hollowtech chranks, litterally a 5 minute job.
at this price it seems like a no-brainer.

I can confirm that this will work with your cranks but you will need an axle spacer as the cups on this are narrower than standard so you will need the spacers to hold the cranks in place. I hope this helps.
If your crank has a 24mm axial and you have screw in bearings on your frame and know what thread they are ie English or italian I would give it a go , you could always return them if they do not fit . As far as I know the hollow tech 2 component s are compatible ie cranks and bottom brackets . Hope this helps
I do not know you bike specifically. But this bracket is a 68mm english screw thread type. It is not press fit so will likely not fit your bike. You need a press-fit bottom btracket to fit the ultegra crankset.
Hi, I'm seeing conflicting info in some previous answers about compatability of hollowtech 2 BBs with various shimano cranks. I believed they would be compatible, but wanted to double check if this would be compatible with the cranks I mentioned. It's in a 2014 Genesis equilibrium 10. Thanks.
Apologies for any conflicting information. The new style Ultegra/105 bracket runs the same axle cranks but with a smaller diameter cup/ bearing. It is fine to use with any Shimano Road Hollowtech II chainset, such as the FC-4650 you have.. You can also use the Tiagra BB I have listed below. Hope this helps.
I am planning to change from a Truvativ ISOFLOW chainset and Truvativ Square axle bottom bracket for 10spd 105 groupset. Could you tell me if this is the bottom bracket i require please? I dont have a clue about bb's. TIA
Hello, I'm looking to replace the bottom bracket on a 2014 Specialized Allez Sport. It has the Sora chainset that it came with. The current bottom bracket is marked: bc1.37 x 24 road. Would this be suitable as a replacement bottom bracket? Thanks for any help
I have a Trek Madone 3.1 and want to replace the current Tiagra 4600 chain set with the Tiagra 4700 chain set. I have been told that it is worth replacing the bottom bracket at the same time whilst I have the chain set off. Would this bottom bracket fit?
