Description

Genuine Shimano HollowTech II bottom bracket assembly which includes left and right hand cups, spacers, inner cover, and inner O-rings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant service I was unsure whether this product would directly fit an old FSA Comet chain set and various forums gave conflicting advice. Despite the product being low value, Will in the support team really went out of his way to find out compatibility and confirmed that it would. I ordered and it was delivered within 48 hours and fitted the BB same day with no issues at all. Runs smoothly and although it’s too early to comment on longevity, I’m aware that Shimano outlasts the standard FSA one used

Genuine part came very well packed with grease (despite some comments on line that they don't) and was easy to fit with the correct tool and a quick browse of a couple of YouTube videos. Certainly a lot easier to remove than the older Mk1 design that I have on my bike.

Yes this will be compatible with your current setup. The difference is the length of the thread on the MTB BB is longer than the Road BB.

Unfortunately this may not be suitable, the manufacturer recommends using their X-TYPE TEAM XC bottom bracket.

These should be the SMBB51, both have the same compatibility so shouldn't differ to each other.

Will this work as an upgrade on my scott aspect 970?

I believe that the scott aspect 970 uses a square tapered bottom bracket, so whilst it would be compatible with the bike it would not be compatible with the stock chainset.

Is this compatible with Ultegra FC6800, can I fit without inner sleeve?

I'm trying to use this BB with a Shimano Ultegra FC6800 on a 63mm wide frame. It appears to be too wide with the recommended number of spacers. Can I run it without the spacers & therefore without the inner sleeve fitted? Many thanks

No do not run without inner sleeve this is for a hollow crank you risk contamination of the bearing's if you don't fit the sleeve.
