Classic Shimano brilliance
Works perfectly, just as 99% of shimano stuff does!
Took it across scotland, including a fair few knocks on rocks, through 15+ rivers, up and down a mountain and it still look and works like new!

Best choice for Shimano 11s system.
Bought this as part of a 1x11 conversion. For the tiny difference in prices, there seems no reason to buy anything lower than XT for those of us who ride a lot. The mech works very well with my 11-42 cassette and XT M8000 shifter. Takes some adjusting to get the gears changing super-smoothly and quietly, but once done, the gears are still changing smoothly and quietly after some epic rides.
Changes are a little smoother with the clutch disengaged, but still quite acceptable with the clutch engaged when needed. This only makes a difference when changing between the largest sprockets on the cassette, and is quite minor. Some may not even notice it.
M8000 XT is a very good value point in the Shimano range, given that, in my experience, it is 99% of XTR performance and just a little heavier. I cannot feel any difference in performance on my XTR-equipped bike.

XT quality still exists!
Great mech! Shifts with a precise action and glides up onto the largest 42T sprocket at the rear with no issues. If you are running a single front ring set up this is the mech for you. I had the long cage before (which is designed for doubles! My error not the mech!) and it was considerably nearer the ground and hooked up a branch and bent it! Over 2000 miles on mine now and still sweet.

love XT
XT just gets better every year, I've used xt from the 8 speed days up to 11speed and it never fails to impress. There's more improvement over last year's 10sp, better jockey wheels, adjustment screws use allen keys instead of screwdriver, adjust the clutch with allen key, no need to remove the cover, rubber cap covers the allen key hole and you can even check clutch strength with a torque wrench. (wiggles lifeline pro torque wrench scores well on bikeradar). Performance wise, it's even better than before, shifting smoothly over my 11/40 cassette. Durability good so far, no signs of wear, no issues.

M8000 derailleur just what I needed!
As I was looking to build up a gravel road bike I was lucky enough to stumble across the m8000 cassette and derailleur. These have work great with a 100 miles on them. No complaints & no need to spend a lot of money either. Thanks to wiggle and shimano for the good deal.
