Great pads
My third set of these pads over the years.
Wear really well and stop in any conditions I've ever encountered. Mostly Cotswold mud.
Were a bit squealy when first fitted but after an hour of riding to bed them in worked perfectly.

Metal is best
The metal is as tough as nails. Lasts sooo much longer. Did a 100km race in bad conditions. Metal pads were fine - hardly used, while the resin on a friends (same brakes etc) were completely gone.
Havent had any problems with noise etc. To be honest I dont know why these arent standard

Best I've had on so far
I run XT brakes and XTR rotors and have dried other branded pads in the past but none have been as good as these. Shimano develop and test their calipers with their own pads. For best performance, it makes sense to use them to since the pads were meant to work with the Shimano calipers. Works for me with brilliant control and stopping power.

Quality Pads
Good quality pads -superior breaking and last well

Worst disc pads I've ever used
Worst pads ever for the following reasons:
1) Noisy. Pads are slightly noisier than standard pads under light braking, but what I can't put up with is the way they start to scream as soon as they get any heat in them.
2) Requires far more force to be applied to the brake lever. I had to use 2 fingers to generate more than a moderate brake force, whereas I've always only required 1 finger before.
3) Has far less stopping power than standard pads even with the additional force applied to the brake lever.
4) Has very little modulation. Pads feel like they only have 3 stopping levels - low medium and high (nothing in between)
I've done one 6hr ride with these pads and they didn't improve during the ride, so I bought some different ones as soon as I got home and have thrown these in the bin.

Great value and so easy to fit.Recommend to get them from WIGGLE.

Good performance in wet and dry
Excellent durable pads with no squeal when compared with other brands.

Best pads for Shimano brakes
These pads are great for shimano breaks that will fit them. I installed them on XT calipers and they provide better breaking thatn the original XT brake pads.

Works fine but sooooooo squeaky. Cant seem to fix the squeal even after adjustments and emery paper.

Consumable
Brake pads wear out. You need more every now and then. These are some.
Incidentally, they are the M06 versions that are suitable for all conditions.

work well, but very noisy. I have changed back to resin pads.

not so sure
The pads started out noisy and it seems things have only gotten worse. At first I thought the noise they made was useful as it alerted people that I was nearby and that I was stopping. HOWEVER, the noise has become intolerable, and at times I am now reluctant to use these brakes as they draw so much attention. The noise is a horrible squealing that does not sound healthy. I have tried sanding the pads and cleaning the rotor many times, and though this fixes the problem temporarily after half an hour the noise is back... I don't know if others have this problem, but it's seriously annoying for me.

Expensive but work well
Not worth trying to save cash using non OEM brake pads unfortunately. Tried some others when couldn't get shimano pads in a hurry and they were rubbish so have accepted that that when they wear out I just need to bite the bullet.

very noisy
Would not recommend the full metallic pads, very very noisy, did not provide good positive brake feel, when hot on long use they tended to glaze up.
The noise was terrible my riding buddies were going to exclude me from the bunch if I didn't change out.
The organic, semi sintered pads seem OK as I've used previously.
Now I've got four sets that I won't be using.

Powerful Pads
I had previoulsy been using synthetic pads and couldn't get enough braking power especially with the front. Changing to XTR pads made the exact change I was after. If you want high braking power these pads are the perfect ones.

Tough Brake Pads
Shimano XTR metal disc brake pads are excellent. They are much more powerful than my previous resin pads and last much longer. They are noiser, but i think that is the cool sound of hard riding. The metal brake pads work excellent when heated up and slow me down instantly every time.

Metals are the best
I only ever buy metals now last forever , having chewed out semi-sintered pads completly during muddy races, the metals last for ages and I dont notice the difference in performance, you do get some brake squeal from time to time, but hey nothings perfect.

great pads- cheap, high quality, genuine Shimano. Great product

Stops The Bike
Quality materials and precision made. They just pop in place and work from the off.
27 May 2010
Easy to fit, there is a little more noise than standard pads but worth it for the extra stopping power.
27 April 2010
thick and light
Just installed them the other day. Much thicker than the previous pads but seemed to weigh about the same. I really had to lever in the brake pistons to fit them in. It's much easier to put the package of pads and springs together and drop the lot in rather than put the pads in and then try to fit the spring. The pads bedded in quickly and seem to stop well but are noisier than the previous ones (Shimano resin). I thought they might cure the vibration from my rear brake but no such luck. It will need further investigation.

Not yet installed
Bought these pads to see if they are any better than Fibrax replacements I've been using for the last couple of years. Time will tell!

Brake Pads: stop you in your tracks
The grey packaging is perfectly suited to the product which fits neatly inside. It is easy to open. The parts fitted to the bike very well. No problems. The brakes work. And best of all the pads come supplied with 2 split pins. How thoughtful. Everything you need to upgrade your disk brake pads for disc brakes of this make and model.

Good original product for XTR brakes! Good fit and long lasting brake pads. The only option for XTR brakes.

I'm sold on these......
brake pads having gone through 3 sets now. The've provided wholly dependable, high quality stopping power in all terrains and weather conditions. Wether it's flying down a black ski run as part of the Cristalp or hacking around the welsh hills I've always felt fully secure and developed 100% trust in this product. Braking is not an area to compromise on, so my advice is to pay the extra and get the best - these brake pads simply ARE!

brake pads
you only think about brake pads when they aren't working, and truthfully who wants to have to think about the consequences of not being able to stop half way through what would otherwise have been a great ride? If you want reliabile and dependable stopping don't bother with generic brands get the pads the brakes were designed to use.

Ok....
I brought this to use on my road bike disc brakes as like the other reviewer I had heard that they would have a slightly better durability and the extra bite they had would increase my stopping power.
Ive been pretty happy with them. They do bite well and ive only experienced minimal amounts of noise coming from them. This was after an extremely long ride where they probably needed a slight adjustment to keep them in check.
They were pretty easy to fit in although a little fiddly at first to put in the holder and into the pads housing, so take your time changing them over.
Overall im not over the moon with them, but then im not dissatisfied with them either. They do their job, they do it well, be it with a little noise now and again and thats what i'd expect them to do! bring me to a stop!
