SKS SKS Race Blade XL Clip On Mudguard Set 4.2 5 114 114
Terrible product! Never again! I bought these guards for my commuter bike (Specialized Sirrus), for the winter days and obviously when it rains. I was initially attracted by the looks, versatility of the product (being able to remove it in the summer), and by the low weight. Fitting the blades was proved to be tricky but I finally got them on. Unfortunately after riding with them for a bit, I found the elastic straps stretched a lot and even came undone meaning the guards kept popping off! (Not good). The only way to fix them was to use the cable ties removing the ability to take them off and on easily. Bad. I then found even with the cable ties, the guards kept twisting around meaning they kept rubbing against the tyres. Bad. Once again. It got worse when I found out they didn't offer any water protection on the rear wheel by the crank. It meant whenever I cycled in the rain or on wet roads, I ended up with wet feet and a soaking pair of trouser legs. Bad turns to terrible. Seriously!? What's the point of these things!? Terrible product and definitely not recommended. Avoid! 04 July 2010
Driest bottom ever! I commute to work in Perth (very wet winter) and have just fitted these - what a relief to arrive without a damp backside, and a splattered face. Used the temporary attachments can slip a little bit, (but you just pull them up again and tighten them). The front one needed trimming to fit under the gear cables (Amiata road bike) when the front wheel turns from side to side - there is a black rubber lump on the back of the mudguard that stands quite proud, but was easy enough to shave a bit off. 18 June 2010
A good buy Bought these in carbon for a Trek7.9 fx and they look good & do the job. On rough terrain, or on carbon bikes with less "damping" in the frame, road vibration does result in the blades slipping through the mounts and rubbing on the tyres - however, this is completely cured by using the screws supplied with the kit. I'd recommend fixing the blades in place with either the rubber straps or zip ties, then slipping out the wheels before drilling the fixing holes while the guards are still on the bike- that way, you'll get a perfect fit. (You'll need a steady hand, a very fine drill bit and a slow drill - or a bloke!!!!!!!!!!) I fixed these with zip ties as I'll leave them on until spring, but the rubber mounts do work well & allow the guards to be slipped on and off in seconds, especially if they have also been screwed into the mount. The extra rubber end flaps look a bit odd (I'm not sure if I'm on a hybrid racer or a shopper) but are really effective and the fixings supplied are ingeniously simple to fit. Highly recommended for tyres > 25, but if I had skinnier tyres, I'd have gone for Crud Busters instead. 20 November 2009
A compromise The quality of the product is good, but I have changed these within weeks. They aren't long enough to keep me dry, and allow grit to get in to the front dérailleur. Despite using pliers to tighten the ties as much as possible, they eventually slip and the front mudguards start to rub on the wheels. This may be due to the shape of my front forks which taper down to the axle of the wheel. 28 October 2015

I fitted these to a Raleigh Airlite 100 with 25mm tyres and I note there's a space of just short of 1.75" (inside to inside of the wire stays) across the TOP of tyres ie, there's oodles of clearance on either side of my tyres.

So yes, I'd say you're good to go.

Theoretically they should fit as they will fit tyres up to 35mm, however depending on your tread pattern you may find they are very close if not rubbing.

Will these fit a cannondale with 700x35c tyres and headshok fatty dl50 forks

Hi, I have a Cannondale quick cx1 and while I appreciate that at 35c wide, my tyres are over the recommended width for these mudguards, however I wondered if they can be positioned higher up the forks to allow sufficient clearance above the tyres to be fitted? Also, if they could, would the fixtures be wide enough to fit to the forks I have, the headshok fatty dl50, as they seem wider than on other bikes I have seen? Thanks.

will these fit on my Forme Pulse hybrid with 700 x 32 tyres

Neewbie so forgive me if asking stupid question. Want a full mudguard for commute. The front forks are and Suntour NCX suspension forks with lockout.
I can see mudguard eyelets on the right side but the dics brake assembly is using the left eyelets. Could I use the sks chromoplastic or do I need clip on like these?

Answer:
I managed to fit them to my Bad Boy with fatty forks and they work really well. Due to the oversize fork the front one was awkward to fit exactly right, with some manual slight bending of the stays required. But if you are patient and reasonably handy you should be able to get them to fit your Seek. Be careful not to put too much pressure on the plastic feet that touches the fork when you bend the stays or they will crack.
