Exact Actuation

When we launched our road technology from scratch we reapplied our MTB proven SRAM 1:1 actuation ratio (shifter cable travel : derailleur movement) for 10 speed rear shifting. EA helps to simplify/stabilize the uneasy act of balancing rear derailleur hanger design, tight cog spacing and exact cable tension. The result: the easiest index shifting system to set up and it stays that way.

MatchMaker Compatible

Save weight and clutter on the bar with MatchMaker. This system holds AVID® levers, a number of SRAM triggers and the RockShox PushLoc control—all with one tidy, light clamp.

We will happily refund any item purchased on Wiggle if returned to us within 365 days; excluding Wiggle gift vouchers, nutrition and customised products, except when faulty.

Works the way you would expect a product from SRAM to work. Would highly recommend this for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth shifting, does the job Bare in mind that this needs to be fitted with a SRAM shifter, once you do that you're laughing. Smooth shifting and good reliability. This has put up with a good few knockabouts on my MTB now, without issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clean shifting Purchased for my wife's Boardman as she extended the gearing and the medium cage X5 already fitted didn't quite have the capacity for the bigger cogs, easy fit with new cables and chain, instructions for setting up available on line from SRAM, result is nice clean shifting and less moaning going up hill!

What length cage do I need?

I have a 2006 Carrera Kraken MTB with a SRAM SX5 derailleur ,( which didn't survive a rock impact,Oops !)

Medium/long cage

Hi, I need to replace a sram s7 on a specialized hardrock 2007 9 speed. what is the best option? Medium or long cage?

I can advise that either option should fit, however there are advantages and disadvantages for both long and medium cage derailleurs, if you are between the capacity ranges of the two (often the case on mountain bikes). Longer cage derailleurs will accommodate a wider gear range, and can give a better chain line. Medium cage derailleurs are less susceptible to hitting rocks on the trail. If you can use a medium cage derailleur on your drivetrain, without it needing to contort on the extremes of the cassette (i.e. if it is within its tooth capacity), then it is a normally better option.

I am trying to replace my jockey wheels on my sram x5 rear mech but unable to find any, so it looks like a new rear mech, what size cage? thanks john

The cage size will depend somewhat on your gear set up up; if you are running a 3x9 or 10 on the back with a large ratio, you will need the long cage version.
