Description

Thanks to its advanced magnetic brake the Booster generates very high powers at low speeds. The integrated brake system consists of 8 permanent magnets with a 2 kg flywheel and can reach a maximum resistance of no less than 1050 Watt.

The Booster is easy to assemble and also safe, because the brake has been built in to prevent the rider from contact with the hot flywheel. The Booster is the new number 1 cycle trainer of the pros for their warming-up and training sessions. But of course this popular cycle trainer is also available to all the other riders that enjoy tacxing.

Professional tacxing
The best pro riders cannot live without their Tacx cycle trainer either. They use it during the warming-up for races and time-trials. The robust frame stands its ground anywhere and has been designed to withstand incredible forces. This is exactly what you need shortly before the start of your race. The super powerful Booster is the absolute top model of the Tacx Pro Teams.

The Tacx Booster is the official warming-up trainer at the Olympic Games and the UCI World Championships.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NorthernCyclist from TACX Boost is a solid trainer if using with a power meter, bike computer, cadence sensor and HRM this is a good if not better alternative to many very expensive and more modern trainers with the ability to roll off once warmed up to do a TT. you could use to do your winter training on quite easily. if using for any longer than 10 or 20 mins i would advise you get a proper turbo trainer tyre though! folds up small and is quiet to use. I bought mine to use on wet days when doing long endurance rides as sometimes a turbo can be painful to use for any longer than 90-120 mins where as when you're sat on your standard road bike this fatigue on your posterior doesn't seem to happen as much. it's also good for when my turbo does break and i am waiting for it to be serviced. at the price i bought mine at this is a no-brainer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lblew from Had to send it back, not compatible with my bike Although it states will fit a range of bike wheel sizes it did not fit my bike without catching the plastic wheel cut out

Q & A

Should I get theTacx Booster or the Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel?

Asked by: Geelong
I can confirm that the Elite Crono Fluid ElastoGel is a quieter smoother trainer then the Tacx booster trainer and I would recommend this over the Tacx. I hope this helps.

Can I use a normal tyre with this i.e. Schwalbe Marathon Plus? If not, which trainer would suit for these tyres?

Asked by: 06rusty
Almost any tyre featuring a slick tread should be suitable for use with a trainer. This may cause excessive wear however and a specific trainer tyre should provide great longevity.

Tacx Booster Ultra High Power Folding Magnetic Trainer

IS THE GARMIN 1000 AND 25 COMPATIBLE TO USE ON THE BIKE WITH THIS TURBO TRAINER? IE WILL THEY SHOW SPEED ETC ON INDOOR MODE IF I HAVE SPEED AND CADENCE SENSORS ATTACHED TO BIKE? THANKS WAYNE.
Asked by: MRQs
These would be compatible with the sensors installed on the bike on the trainer without issue.

Is Booster or Sartori more suitable for 'non-cyclists' - buying one for all the family to use at varying levels of resistance.

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't think Tacx make the satori now? which means it'll probably be selling with a decent discount. I have the Booster which I love, but for all the family it may be a little too hard resistance-wise for new/weaker riders.

What is max watt output?

Asked by: seanq
Unless you are a world tour rider you arent going to power through this things max watts. The tacx website claims 1000 watts of resistance at the highest setting at 60kmh and im inclined to believe with the difficulty the higher settings put up.
