The quality of this Thomson seatpost is excellent, also the service from Wiggle has been one of the best I have ever experienced. I haven't ordered from them before but it will be my first port of call next time. Thank you Wiggle for an all round excellent experience.

Seat post compatibility

My current seat post is 27.2 x 350mm (Specialized carbon fiber). Will the 27.2 x 330 work? I ride a women's Specialized Ruby road bike size 51 frame.

The the 27.2 x 330mm option will be compatible with your bike. You will just have less length in the post. Hope this helps.

Will this work in reverse?

If I turn the post forward to get a better TT position on a road bike with tri bars,will the seat clamp allow enough adjustment to get seat at right angle?

There is a "front" and a "back" of the clamp, so you'd have to turn it around as well. However, plenty of movement both ways so don't see why it wouldn't work but haven't ever tried...

Existing 27mm Seatpost - so 26.8 or 27.2?

Hi, my existing seatmost is marked as 27mm so do I order the 26.8 or the 27.2????

Definitely get the 26.8. My original seatpost was stamped with 31.8 and I brought the 31.6. The 31.6 only just fit in my seat tube. It was a tighter fit than my original post. I think it has something to do with the machined surface of the Thompson post. My original post was a smooth tube. I would not be able to get a 31.8 Thompson post in my bike.

Yes - you'll need to flip the top clamp assembly too, but it can definitely be done. The offset is about 17mm as memory serves, so you'll move about 34mm forward.

hi am looking at buying a thomson elite seatpost and was wondering what the difference is between 30.9 x 367/ 7deg and 10deg ???? the difference between the setback deg???? cheers brenden

Is it possible to use this seatpost to tilt forward rather than backwards?

I would like to try and get a better position on my tri bars. I currently find the top tube too long. I would like to find a seat post that will get me further forward. If I use this seat post will there still be sufficient adjustment to get the seat angle correct?

the post will keep you above the down tube or further back, if your reach is too long you should look at a shorter stem, there should be a slight bend to the elbow when seated. Dac

Anyone know what the usable height is? i.e. 410mm - Minimum Insertion length = Useable height.
