This kit had everything included to allow me to change the cables on a scott mountain bike. Easy to do. Good value compared to the LBS doing it.

Transfil Cable set
Transfil Shimano K.ble Brake Cable Set
Ideal balance between cheap and high end – you get the quality at a good price. Because it is a kit you start with all the parts you need. As with most kits it assumes you will have open sections for the rear cable run. It does make a difference if you can use proper cable cutters (LifeLine Cable and Housing Cutters from Wiggle are good). After cutting, a small Philips screwdriver is useful to open out the end of the inner sleeve to stop it binding on the cable. It is worth cleaning out and re-lubricating the noodle (or buy a new one) at the same time. Another thing worth checking, after it is all fitted, is that there is no slack in the cable, ie the pads start to move as soon as the lever does. Could also be a good time to check / change brake pads and thoroughly clean the rims.

It's got all the bits!
All the bits you need to replace the front and rear brake cables on a road bike. Good quality (better cable set that the one provided on my bike by Specialized..)
12 June 2015
Great cable with better performance then standard quality.
11 June 2015
good quality and value for money
used on my rebuild of a 24 year old mtb fitted fine and brakes now a lot better.

All you need
Contains everything you need to do the job, and it works well. Easy to fit, just the job to keep in your tool box for an emergency change, too. A bit expensive, but probably worth it.
15 October 2013
Good product, fits shimano derailleur no problem, although not quite enough housing if you need to run it all the way from your bars to the derailler for both the front and back. Just measure the distance you need before and you won't have any dramas

These cables did the job and were the best value I could find at the time.
04 January 2013
Good quality cables
Fitted these to my Carrera virtuoso the other day - plenty of cable. End caps were a little hard to crimp so had to use alternatives, but this may be because it was about -2 C in the gargage I was working in. Performance seems good so far.

Great Brake Kit
Great simple kit to replace brake cables. It had everything I needed in the pack to replace my brake cables. Easy to fit.
04 November 2012
Good value, easy to fit
If you're looking for a serviceable replacement cable set then this will do you fine. It's not flashy, but decent quality.
11 August 2012
Several months in and all is well. No problems at all.
13 April 2012
Does the job of more expensive kit out there at a far more attractive price.
13 March 2012
good quality cable
These were at a great price and are really good quality.
13 March 2012
Quality cable at a great price
These are cheaper than shimano branded but don't let that put you off. They are just the job!
30 January 2012
A good basic cable set. There is little reason to spend more unless you want a sealed unit. It would have been nice if the casing caps had been metal rather than plastic but that is really cosmetic. No problems with the performance so far.

Top quality and great value
I've just rebuilt an old retro Scott hardtail, but was doing it on a bit of a budget so didn't want to spend loads. Went for these cables over the OEM Shimano, based upon the reviews of others and am very impressed. Cable quality cannot be distinguised from the Shimano ones with the exception of one very minor thing - the ferrules supplied for the end of the cables are plastic with these vs. steel for my original Shimano items. Other than that, brakes and gears are back to being superbly smooth. Highly recommended.

Does the job but seems expensive. I got a replacement cable installed from the bike shop for $5 more. Comes with plastic caps which are cheap and less effective than metal ones.
17 April 2011
Basic and effective
Not much to say about these - they do the job well with no fancy features. Fitting was easy but you need to do the cable cutting yourself, so get some proper cutters. Only thing is, it would be nice if they were available in white.
I can't wax lyrical about how good my braking is now, since I am using these on a 1980s singlespeed conversion with horrible spongy sidepulls. It's not the cables which are letting the side down!
I would be happy to use these on a road bike up to around Tiagra or 105 - no point in spending more on exotica at this equipment level.
16 April 2011
Initially very stretchy which led to some sketchy situtations to begin with but once readjusted was all good!
Frictionless cable housing
What else is there to say, just a cable...
10 March 2011
Good kit, no instructions
Good value kit and made a big difference to my brake performance. There were no instructions included, but fitting was fairly intuitive. I just cut all the bits to match the outgoing brake system, but found that I could not thread the new, cut brake cable through the housing. DO NOT CUT THE NEW CABLE UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED PASSING IT THROUGH ALL THE HOUSING. I had to buy a separate cable to pay for my mistake.
31 January 2011
This is a great value product. The cable appears to be of high quality. Overall the cable set provides a friction free experience. The casings are matt in appearance.
04 January 2011
good quality cables and all the kit you'll need to do one bike. great value for money alternatives to the Shimano branded versions
25 August 2010
Does what it says on the tin
Comes with two cables and plenty of outer for the cabling and stoppers, so great for replacing brake cables, but beware this is for a road bike so has the wrong cables for MTB or hybrids
14 August 2010
Did not fit
I know this to be a quality product, as you would expect. i ordered brake levers from another store (gasp!!) and the fittings on the end did not fit the levers (tektro levers). Annoying but I can use these ones on my road bike next time I change so no biggie.
16 April 2010
as it says - it's a good all round brake set - simple as...
01 April 2010
Easy to fit, generous amount of cable. Unglamourous but does the job.
28 February 2010
Not sure if I got good value
After fitting these for my rear brakes, I wonder why plastic was used for the casing caps when steel would feel much better. I may not have fitted things perfectly, but the braking action doesn't appear as smooth as I expected it to be.

Great brake cable replacement
The Transfil Shimano brake cable set is a great replacement for old, worn and stretched brake cables. The outer cable cuts well (although it's a bit fiddly to trim the PTFE outer-inner) and the inner stainless cable pulls very smoothly. The ferrules and caps all fit well and round out an excellent brake cable replacement set. The price from Wiggle is very competitive making Transfil K.ble excellent value.
30 January 2010
One small niggle.
A great value cable. Could do with a little extra length with the sleeve, so you can complete both runs without having to cut and have an open section.

Additional information about Avidtriathlete could not be loaded.
Nope, the cable routings on many bikes often use partial sections of outer cable around the bars/head and the seat tube, but leave the cable inner exposed along the top tube / rear stays to save weight and cable drag. As a result you cut the outer cable in to the lengths you require and then fit the inners as normal. There's more than enough outer cable supplied to fit the two inner cables.
Additional information about eagle could not be loaded.
There is only one piece of outer but you use a lot less outer than inner cable as much of the cable is uncovered, such as under the downtube or top tube and along the back of the seat tube and top of chainstay.
