Too short for a tandem This brake cable is claimed to be for a Tandem but as previous reviews have suggested its too short. I have cable disk brakes and its about 1/2m too short and it would even be too short for a tandem with V brakes. The cable itself looks OK though 22 July 2016

Good Long Inner Cable Needed a long cable for a CX bike build and this was just the job 03 May 2015

Check the lenght These cables are only 2.5 mtrs so are not suitable for all Tandems. 21 April 2011

Not the right one for me I am sure this is a great cable for a good price but it was not the right one for me. I asked the question in Q and A to make sure I ordered the correct one, and was advised to buy this one, turns out I wanted the MTB type. 10 November 2010

QUALITY CABLE This cable is plenty long enough and can be cut to length - good quality. The only downside is they don't include a cap to crimp on the end to stop the cable from fraying when you have cut it to length - other than that it is great 09 September 2010

Great Value Just very good value and decent quality. Does exactly what I require, it's plenty long enough and the make stretches in quickly. 17 July 2009

Will this fit old Mafac brake levers?

I want a tandem rear brake cable inner wire that has a large pear. This is as per the picture, however, this does not seem to correspond with the answers given to earlier questions. Does this cable come with a large pear nipple?

Crikey, that is a blast from the past I loved my Mafac brakes in the 50's, but no longer use them. However, the Mafacs that I had, if my recollection is correct, used cables with pear nipples similar to those produced today, as, Campag notwithstanding, this is one item, the design of which has not changed.

Road or MTB ?

The photos for the road and mtb cables look the same and I am not sure the one I need. The nipple on the end looks wrong for my bike in both pictures. I require the one with the cable going into the side of the cylinder rather than the end.
