The Substance II takes all the features from its older brother plus anything that was missing before. Using a full cromoly frame with a tapered headtube, custom bolt thru dropouts, PF30 BB and fender/rack mounts. Built up with a pair full carbon forks to allow a little more comfort at the front end. and flared bars for added control.
Although supplied with 700c wheels the Substance II has clearance for road plus wheels(650b x 47c). The Substance II is truely a bike that can do anything, from roads to tracks to adventures what more do you need out of a bike.
Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano’s top end groupsets, making the 105 11 speed 5800 groupset a performance option for the masses. The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano’s Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort.
With its two piece hollow axle design, the Shimano Hollowtech II chainset is both stiffer and lighter than a square taper chainset. Using a Pressfit bottom bracket shell also provides increased stiffness and bearing life over standard cartridge units. With 50/34 compact gearing, you can tackle even the steepest climbs with confidence.
Using the all new Shimano BR505 dropbar hydraulic disc brakes give the Substance the stopping power it needs down the hills. The dual piston caliper ensures even brake wear and a greater performance. Its index shifting mechanism offers the 11 speed drivetrain an economical brake/gear lever but a smooth and elegant gear change.
Finishing the Technique off is a alloy 75mm reach bar,a 3D forged stem, Single bolt alloy 27.2mm seatpost and a endurance road specific saddle. A great, light-weight finishing kit to top the Substance off.
