    Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great trail bike for the price. It's pretty hard to fault this bike for the price. Credit to Wiggle. It arrived early, well packed and set up. The free multi tools and basic pedals are a nice touch. The bike looks great in the grey fade colour scheme. I've already covered around 150 miles. Some road but mostly off road covering rolling moorland to rocky descents and some trail centre trails. It's very much a proper trail bike. The Marzocchi fork is plush and stiff. It's great to see proper quality tyres which were easy to set up tubeless and the Shimano Deore drivetrain has performed well. The bike is nice and quiet over rough ground too which I like. The Brand X dropper post is great. I would have liked to see a full outer on the gear cable as I think mud will eventually get into the interrupted gear cable fitted but that's being picky. Get one if you can!

I only took delivery of this today, so this is a first impressions review only as I won't get chance to take it out for a proper ride for some time. I am mainly a roadie, but I still love mountain biking and I don't hold back on the trails. Don't listen to people who class this as a beginner's bike just because it isn't a full suspension model or doesn't have any carbon fibre in it. In my opinion, this will be more responsive and more fun on all but the most extreme trails. Every part on the bike is a quality item without any obvious cost cutting for the price. The paint looks much better "in the flesh" with the darker colour towards the bottom bracket and the glossy finish shining through. I'm 5'10" with a 32" inside leg and the large is definitely the right size for me. However, if my legs were any shorter then I wouldn't be able to fully extend the 150mm dropper post and I'd start to worry about my squishy bits becoming closer to the top tube. This is as close to a perfect all round package as you will get for the price. However, if I am nit-picking, then there are two minor cons. Firstly, the non-smoothed welds look ugly, and I wouldn't like that on a road bike. Here though, I'd say it is acceptable on a rugged looking bike and the weld quality looks fine. Secondly, and more importantly, the Deore brakes feel weak (even just testing them inside my house), which is probably due to the resin pads and resin only rotors. The Deore brakes on my old 26" bike are much stronger and can lock up instantly with minimal force on the levers. Even with a Wiggle platinum discount, sintered pads and compatible discs would cost £75 or so, which is an outlay I wouldn't expect to have to make. So factor in this cost, but bear in mind that most bikes at this price probably have similar set ups. Overall, the bike is every bit as good as I expected it to be, and the included multi tool, pedal spanner, touch up paint and tubeless valves are a nice touch too.

The only thing I’ve changed is the saddle, and gone for tubeless. The bike is lots of fun on our local trails and hoping to use it to keep fit without resorting to the turbo trainer this winter! The bike is highly recommended!,

Happy about this years swap to the Deore drivetrain, not so happy about the color changes in the fork and brand decal. Bike shipped to California with an already bent derailleur hanger.

    Are pedals included?

    They don't seem to be listed anywhere in the specs.

    Most bikes come with basic plastic pedals included for test riding purposes, however it is not guaranteed they will be included.

    Geometry confusion

    I'm undecided between a large Sentier and a large Mythique. Comparing the two, the Sentier has a longer effective top tube but a shorter reach that the Mythique, implying that the seat tube angle is less steep. However, this is not the case. Are the geometry tables definitely correct? This is very important for ordering the correct size.
